I'm not too savvy on popcorn machine parts, but the stick that extends from the popcorn kettle (stir rod I think) won't turn. The gear on the top of the machine seems like it's stationary, and the gears are trying to turn from the kettle. Also, the gear at the top of the machine will come off easily.. but will not spin. Any suggestions?
My pop corn machine started being very hot then it stopped spinning suddenlyi.i can't start it again
Same exact thing happened to mine. I could hear the motor and the plate was heating but the arm wasn’t spinning. It seems as though maybe the screws on the bottom started loosening because it wasn’t putting enough pressure on the spring from the motor to the turner. I tightened those up and works great now.
There are many possible problems that will cause your agitator to not spin, But you said the gear in the cabinet comes off easily, it should not.
There is a flat part of the motor shaft that extends thru the top of the cabinet that the gear should be tightened onto with an allen wrench via a set screw. This is the first place to check. When the motor is on, you should not be able to stop that cabinet gear from turning. (not easily anyway).

When the fuse blows see what else in the house is out, maybe you have the circuit overloaded. Try putting the popcorn maker on a different unused curcuit to see if it still blows. Then you will know if it is the popcorn maker.

Mine is doing the same thing. Did you get yours fixed yet? If so, what was the problem? Its got to be the wiring. If you take off the bottom square wiring cover access, you will see the two main wires and a grounder all connected. Sometimes the connectors melt with the heat. Maybe that is what is causing the short.

Have you checked to assure that the warmer switch and the kettle heat switch are both functioning properly? Also the timer on the bucket seasoning pump control box determines the length of time the heat element of the bucket pump is at HIGH HEAT i also suggest you take a look at this pdf of the manual of your machine under the troubleshooting guide area if you have any further questions please message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation Thanks again

Generally, you want 3 oz. of corn to one 1oz of oil. The amount of corn you can put in the kettle depends on the size of the kettle. So take the kettle size, (I think that machine is an 8 oz popper) and divide 8 by three to get 2.66 oz. (about a third of a cup) of oil needed. So you would use 1 cup of corn, and a third cup of oil.
