Map updates are free for units which are recently sold with the older maps and the new maps have been published, ie you just bought a unit in 2009 which still had 2008 maps on it after the 2009 maps had been released. Rather than recall all the units from the store shelves, they offer free updates on the mapping software. Continually updating the maps on 18 month old units is not free, there is an update charge. What is free from Garmin is the unit's software. Hope this clarifies your assumption.
not sure there are map updates now for this unit it is superceded I di find this comment on the site I'm helping my dad try to update his navcam7700 about a year after he
bought it. There is no support on the website, not a heck of a lot when
I look up maps, etc in google. I just bought myself a refurbed
navigon 2100 and it blows his piece of **** out of the water. It's easy
to use and a no frills GPS unit. I already have 8 Mp3 players, i didn't
need one in my gps unit... If someone offers you a navcam 7700 to use as a paperweight, throw it at them!!!!!!
I have the new N30 software, it has updated maps and updated software. You can input street addresses and via directions. Contact me and I'll give you a link to download it. Joe
what is last destination? if it is just a software program that is not critical to keep, then follow these steps:
goto start menu-bottom left
goto control panel
find add/remove programs and click on it--it will populate all sftwr
scroll down until you find the software to remove
click on it then click remove or right click then hit remove..
that should take care of that unless this is some important software so let me know if i can help anymore..
