That should be 1972-73. Value will depend on condition and your location's market, but I would say arounf $1000 in very good condition with the case in my area.

7 is prim
10 = 5x2
=> 7x5x2x2x2=280 can evenly be devided in to 8,7,10
proof:
280/8=35
280/7=40
280/10=28

Your adapter should be a 12 volt DC delivering 2 amps (2000 ma). If the adapter is too small, you will have the symptoms you are seeing. Make sure the polarity is correct. DO NOT use the so called "universal adapters".

These harminicas are warranteed and rarely have problems. Either return it to the place of purchase for an exchange or contact Hohner directly. My experience with this company is that they are eager to make things right.

Check your battery. A weak battery will recover a bit when you power down for a brief period. Strumming hard will overcome the weak amplification when battery is down. Check that your battery is at LEAST 8 volts.

Also verify your plug into the guitar is clean. The barrel of the plug shorts to the ring contact to connect the internal battery. Do NOT use a balanced TRS cable for your intrument as this will lead to a marginal condition.

assuming that its meant for a 110 outlet then you may want to check the internal fuse the high volatge would have blown the fuse before doing any real damage good luck!
