TV is hooked up to Cable and DVR
Do a hard reset or Factory reset to this set, and check. To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

Is the Comcast box digital? and is it a Scientific America 8000 series box?
If so, try unplugging the power to the cable box for a minute, replug and after the reboot see if that fixes the problem...

Ur tv shouldn't set in cable mode, if u don't have pay cable,or satalite,extra..Should set in air channels.Buy a digital antena or out side roof antena u get all the channels airs.

hdmi input is the problem. Yes I did try 3 different hd boxes same issue problem is with tv .

Do you subscribe to cable television? If you do, you will need a cable box to decode the signal, otherwise unless your local provider offers a free to air service, your TV will not be able to decode the cable signal. It is important to know wether you are connecting your TV to a cable socket, or aerial or satellite, as these are all very different signals which your TV may not decode.
