My Trane air conditioner is not blowing cold air

But it's making a sound-like a fan is on. The outside is running but there doesn't seem to be any air coming out of the vents. Usually when it was on, I could open my utility room and feel the cool air...I can't anymore. Help please. It was installed in 2003.

And I did replace the batteries in my thermostat just in case.

I also just looked and it's dripping a little water onto the floor.

The breaker is fine.....I checked that. Would it be low on freon at this age when I don't use it all that often? How would I check the belt? It sounds like the fan inside is running. Also, the strange thing that I didn't notice before is that they put this black sticky stuff around a white pipe and that looks almost melted off.

My Trane TWE036C140B0 is not blowing cool air i have turned off the TSTAT and still not getting any cool air the outside fan is working and the lines are not frozen

Sounds like your compressor is not running check your run cap. Most tranes I work on has a start cap it will be a black color and the run will be a shiny silver. If you have a multimeter you can check the caps. You will need a meter that has micro Fards and the caps have the ratings written on them.

Hi, I have an amana ap125hd portable air conditioner and for some reason is doesn't produce cold air anymore. Then fan blows and the compressor kicks in, but to no avail, no cold air. I took the unit...

replace it,most likely the freon leaked out,if the compressor is running and the fan is blowing but not getting cold most likely you have a leak in the sealed system.

I have a goodman air conditioner. When I turn it on air blows through the vents but it's not very powerful or cold. The unit outside makes a humming noise but the fan is not spinning. It's not...

You may have a bad condenser fan motor or a bad capacitor for that motor. If the compressor is running in the outside unit but the fan is not then it is most likely one of those two components that has failed. Consider calling a service tech to test it and see where the problem is.

Trane xe 1000 - 1/4 fan motor went bad - I replaced it with a used 1/3 from another trane unit - it had same wiring harness etc everything starts, runs, cools -cold air - but only for about 5...

Did the 2 fans have the same rpm. If there is not enough airflow through the outside unit the compressor will shutdown on high discharge pressure. Also make sure the fan blades are positioned right if there is a shroud for them. Did the other motor have a capacitor with it or did you use the 1 from the smaller motor. Sometimes the motor data plate will tell you what size capacitor you need. Let me know what you find.

My a/c unit does comes on but it only warm air not

Make sure the outside unit is running, compressor and fan. Sometimes it is hard to hear the compressor over the fan. If the outside unit is not working check circuit breakers first. Set thermostat to call for a/c and make sure the contactor in the outside unit pulls in. If it does check capacitor for whatever is not running. If everything seems to be running fine hold your hand above the fan outside. The air coming from it should be hotter than the outdoor air. If it isn't get the refrigerant charge checked.

Sounds to me like your compressor is not operating, first check the filter to make sure its not pluged up, if thats not it, you will need a qualified service tech to come a diagnos it for you, but sounds to me like the compressor is bad, hope that helps
