Last night I closed it before it had shut down so opened it and pressed power off hard to turn it off. This morning I swiped my finger , it goes to Welcome then changes to THE User profile service service has failed the logon User profile cannot be loaded Ok. I have tried with my password instead of swiping finger 5 times after restarting Same. I then took the battery out and put it back in...still didnt work

The lid actuator switch may not be working correctly. It's a small switch above the keyboard and led's on either the right or left side. Try pressing it 2 or 3 times to see if the display starts working correctly again. If so, it will need to be replaced.
If that doesn't work, you can also turn it on with the ac adapter plugged in. After it boots, press the power button and hold it in until it shuts off and then turn it on again and see if the display has returned to normal.
If neither of these options work, your laptop may need to have the backlight replaced.

This isn't a password login problem - the User Profile Service service failed the logon because it's corrupted. Try to login in Safe Mode and access your account from there . If you can then retrieve all your files while you still can and prepare yourself for a reinstall.
If you can't then you will have to use a Linux Live-Cd like

to recover your files before performing a full reinstall.
