Put the lever in the open position so that you can grab the stopper. After you get a grip on it, put the lever in the closed position and the drain plug and rocker assembly will pull out in a horizontal direction.

It's time to replace that flush valve. They're cheap, they're easy to replace.

It could be the pressure on the drain isn't allowing the rubber around the drain pop up to come unlodged from the floor of the tub. I have ran into this problem a few times. the best way we found to take care of it was to install a push pull type drain assembly or try and adjust the drain pop up so it pops up higher allowing the rubber around it to break the seal and start to drain. take some pictures and post them i might be able to help more

Chances are that the drain assembly was not part of the tub but a 'generic' plumbing part. Is this pop up drain the type that you push down and it clicks closed and push down and then it pops up? It unscrews from the drain fitting and you can get a replacement at a big box store. A better pop up replacement is one called a Rapid-fit. It drains faster.

if it is 25 yrs old it might be to your favor to just replace the fixture.parts for something this old may be hard to find good luck.

I realized that the missing part was the rocker assembly with stopper. I have a PDF of the schematic that I can send you if you still need it. Let me know. no manual. Sounds like the motor is no good. What model and brand of pump do you have?

If its still not working these units unscrew, sometimes there not easy to remove... how old is this bathtub? or when was the drain last replaced? I'll wait to here from you!

10 gallons drain in 12 minutes =10/12=.833 Gal/Minute.

1 Gal/Min - .833 gal/min= .167 gal/min gain in water/min.

10 Gal/.167=59.88 minutes.
