SOURCE: Power cord and battery's support NO power to Video Camera

This incident happens often and damages the camcorder's power board. Replacing power board and some adjustment should resolved the problem. Your cost may run from $175-$225 in US for this model. Whenever you are transfering and connecting to pc, it is recommended to connect AC adapter power for this. Do not rely on a charged battery. Good luck.

SOURCE: New Batter won't fully charge and camera won't power off

The battery will not hold a charge or cannot be charged at all.
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue.
IMPORTANT: It is recommended that you only use a Sony® brand rechargeable battery.

  1. Remove the battery from the camcorder or charger.
  2. Ensure the metal contacts on the battery are free of corrosion.
  3. NOTE: If necessary, the metal contacts can be cleaned using a soft cloth.
  4. Reinsert the battery into the camcorder or charger.
If the issue is still unresolved, then the battery may need to be replaced. If still unresolved after trying a replacement battery, then service may be required. The Sony® eService Web site at http://eservice.sony.com/ can assist you in obtaining service from a Sony Service Center or locating a Sony Authorized Servicer.

SOURCE: JVC GR-D270u Digital Video Camera

Here is the issue. Connecting this camera to your PC via USB will only allow you to download the pictures that you have stored on the camera's SD card. To download video to your PC you will need to use a firewire to 4-pin DV cable. If you do not have the software from JVC, no worries as Movie Maker on Windows XP will import video from devices for you. Movie Maker in Vista will not allow importing video or capturing from devices at all, so you will need to get the JVC software if you are oin Vista.

SOURCE: I have a Flip mino

Try a different USB port and don't use an extension cable with it either. Make sure the computer you are using is turned ON and stays on during the charging. not sure about the second half of your question, not knowing how to open? and change the battery? If you never opened it to begin with how did you get the rechargeable battery pack into it?? they don't come installed. battery was separate in the packaging on mine. anyhow, there is a little slide button at bottom of camcorder slide the opposite direction, then the whole front of the camcorder slides down and off of the camera. The battery pack goes in. the White plastic that covers both batteries Stays on them do not remove, but if there is a little plastic strip covering the connections remove that. I have the Ultra HD and it also takes regular AA batteries, and you may try that too to see if it will work your camera, if not, maybe something is wrong with the camera.
I am hoping you did not think the rechargeable batteries were already in the camcorder and they got thrown away with the packaging !!!! IF so, then use AA batteries instead. good luck. :)

My camera ES90 will not charge, when i plug it in it seems dead

There can be more than one reason:
The battery can't be charged anymore, because it is defect.
The cable you use is defect
The charger you use is defect
One or more contacts are dirty or oxidised

Carefully check all contacts on the battery, in the camera the battery compartment but also the USB slot, where the charge cable goes in. The contacts should be clean and shiny. No contact should be bent. Cleaning with a dry cloth or cotton swab.
If the cable to charge is defect it is more difficult to detect. Only when you have another apparatus that can be connecter with the same cable, you could check if your cable is still in working order.
The charging source can be defect.
If it is a charger, you plug in a wall socket, check if you can use it to charge something else. If you put it in a PC, also check if that USB port can deliver 5 volt with enough current.
I do have a little gadget, from the beginning of USB and LED lights. An USB plug with a small cord and a LED light on the end of it.
You could use it as a reading light on a laptop. But it showed very helpful to show if a charger or a USB plug on a computer still is delivering 5 Volts.

I hope you find the culprit.

What make and model camera?
Not all USB ports put out enough current to charge a battery. If you're connecting through a hub, try bypassing it and connecting directly. If you have another USB port, try that.

Nikon s6300 won't turn on

Coolpix Cameras are tricky to use with chargers. I will assume your USB Charger EH-69P is 100 - 240V 50/60 Hz so it CAN work in many places around the world with an adapter. Do not go over 240V or you could damage it.

These cameras like to have the power supply connected when it is on to charge - meaning if you have it connected and you plug the charger in the wall it will NOT charge. So if you plug the charger in the wall first and then plug the cable in the camera it will work. The camera is actually ON when it charges and I never REMOVE the memory card when it is ON.

When you have a dead battery. Plug the camera in and make sure the ON LED lights and the Charge LED flashes. Then don't mess with it. Let it charge completely (Charge LED stops flashing and is OFF) and then unplug it. It will turn off. Then later you can turn it on.

Why won't my Sony camera charge?

Not all cameras charge from the USB cord. Also there are some USB cords for data, some for charging.

Read page 16 of the manual. Do not use any other charger with this camera. Are you sure you have the battery inserted correctly? When trying to charge, does the green light blink? If so, when it stops blinking and turns off, the battery should be fully charged. Do not attempt to turn the camera on while the charger is trying to charge the battery.

You need to replace your old battery. Don't over charged your battery. If you are using your laptop in your house it is better not to use it with battery. Just use the power adaptor/supply only. Then make sure you will drain the battery let say once a week. =)

Cannot start camera

That simply means that the battery is dead. It lights up thru USB port as the port has charging facility. But battery being dead does not hold the charge. Change it.

My camera will not turn on or charge at all

Hi,

I have this camera as well. It's a pretty simple camera made by radio shack, and I'm not sure if the cord will charge it or not. I would recommend just replacing the battery's, it's what I've always had to do.
