What does the key light stand for on lux7000 canister vaccuum?

For the user's/owner's manual, go to the below link, click on the arrow below where it says "Older Models", click on Lux 7000, click on "download". If you want a service manual, they are only available to Aerus Electrolux stores.
For retracting the cord, try tipping vacuum up on it's back end and gently pulling and releasing cord. This will often cause it to retract. If not, keep in mind that the canister portion of this vacuum has a 7 year warranty on it, so depending on when you purchased it, the cordwinder may still be covered. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, or abuse. There are other things that will void the warranty.

it sounds like the motor is getting tripped out. It could be caused by having a clog somewhere in the unit, could also be that your filters are clogged. you have 2 filters on that unit. One is under the canister, looks like a drawer that slides out and says hepa filter on the front. The other is on the top where the canister goes in. take the canister out and there will be an orange button that will allow the filter to drop. I bet that filter is completely clogged.

You could have a clog in the hose. Also check your filters, if you haven't changed them in a while, that could be what's suffocating your motor

Check to see if the plastic ball is stuck . There should be a ball under the motor , make sure it moves freely. Make sure your vacum lines are not plugged . Best of luck Ed.

Some manufactures, like electrolux have to bring in parts from overseas, making lead times a real issue. I do understand your frustrations, as this is something I deal with every day. Make sure the bag is in place correctly. The question mark light indicates that there isn't a bag in the machine. There is a small button in the front of the bag housing that is depressed by the cardboard top of the bag. I think it is located in the bottom right hand of the bag housing if you are facing the front of the machine. Make sure the bag is depressing this actuator when the front of the machine is closed. If it is, it may be an internal problem with the switch. Good Luck!!

Stand in front of the vaccuum with the lable facing you, the 2 release levers are on the left and right sides, attached to the motor housing, which sits atop the tank/canister. Pull out and up on the levers, twist counter-clockwise, lift straight up and the motor housing will follow, leaving the tank/canister on the floor.
