No... that will not happen.. trust me. Okay, i shouldn't do this but i had to do this with an old xp machine i was given. it had a password and they didnt give it to me saying i had to just reinstall the operating system but since i didn't have the xp pro disk and was not willing to buy one i found this on the web... Follow the instructions. it is NOT HARD. you will have to create a bootdisk for it with a cd or make a bootable usb using UNetbootin

LOG off restart the pc/laptop tap f7/f8 its one of these its been ages for me since i was using this xp, so keep tapping until xp loads it will then give you an option to start in admin or your name, chose admin this will open up the administrator once open go into control panel then users and redo your password, if it's to do with a different password try restore hope this helps, paul.

Click start run type cmd press Enter
black screen should open DOS mode
this will vary depending on your operating system
type in net user username
For eg. If you want to change administrator password , type net user Administrator
it will prompt you to enter the new password
enter the new password and the password is changed
