No... that will not happen.. trust me. Okay, i shouldn't do this but i had to do this with an old xp machine i was given. it had a password and they didnt give it to me saying i had to just reinstall the operating system but since i didn't have the xp pro disk and was not willing to buy one i found this on the web... Follow the instructions. it is NOT HARD. you will have to create a bootdisk for it with a cd or make a bootable usb using UNetbootin
hope this helps

How do I recover a password

Is this the home edition - if it is then the user and groups part of the snap in wont be available so you cant set it (im saying this as whenever ive come across the home edition its been replaced with the pro edition which does) so, assuming you can see the users and groups snap in (right click on my computer and go to "manage") down the left hand side you should see users and groups, click on users and youll see "administrator" on the right....now im assuming youll be already logged in from another account - at this point you should be able to right click on "administrator" and "set password" - that's it.

How do I recover a admistrator password?

you can try to reboot the comp and while it is rebooting hit the F2 key repeatedly that should bring up the bios and you can (maybe ) shut down the need for a password the only other way i know of is to remove the small battery (looks like a watch battery ) , unplug the computer and hold the on off switch in (while unplugged ) for about 15 to 30 seconds . then re insert the battery and plug it in and turn it on . might reset bios password .

Windows password are very hard to get around.
If you have windows xp, there are a few guides about like http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-bypass-Windows-XP-login-passwords-from-scra/

If you google windows password bypass you may find help.
As a last resort you could take the drive out of the pc and fit it to another, or put it in a hard drive caddy like this 1

Forgot password, window xp home edition, how to by pass

Here is a little trick to use that may or may not work:
Start the computer in safe mode and log on as administrator. It's surprising how many people set up their XP computers and password protect their profile, but forget to password protect the administrator account. Once in, you can change your password in your own account.
