I take it that you have a 2-stage snow blower, that is is has the auger blades and then the 2-stage impeller. The impeller blade is damaged <<OR>> the motor is to small to through the snow far. If you have a 5-horse engine and throwing heavy snow, the snow may not go as far as the light fluffy stuff.
A single stage snow thrower is not designed to throw snow far, just move it over a bit.

SOURCE: screeching snow blower

On one side of your machine you will find a cover that you can remove, the belt for the auger is in there. From what I can see there is no adjustment. Check to see how the belt looks. If it's chewed up it will need to be replaced. If you remove the belt try to turn the impeler to see if it turns freely, if it doesn't then check to see if there is something wedged. if nothing is wedged and the belt is off and it still don't turn by hand it could posibly be a bad bearing.if it does turn by hand. Also check the belt pulleies to see if they are ok, the only pulley that will sshould spin freely is the idler pulley, the one on the engine shaft should spin the moter so make sure you pull the spark plug wire off to check that one, and the auger pulley should spin with the auger.

Mtd model 31a140000. Why doesn't throw snow like it was?

Do you rev it up when you use it? they are made to rev up. Are the paddles that throws snow worn? Even if the skid plate is worn but the snow is getting to the paddles it should throw snow. In saying that no snow blower will throw good if you do not have much snow. The more the better it should throw. They won't work well if there is under 3 to 4 inches. and really throw well.

I just bought a brand new yardworks snowblower 357 cc works great but it dosent seem to throw the snow very far for such a big motor any suggestions?

it would depend on the kind of snow you are blowing
check for proper tension on the belt
you can add rubber to the blower paddles to take up space on the outside of housing check youtube

Snow blower does not throw snow very far

If this is not a new problem but has been plaguing you from the start then you should check the space between the paddles and the tunnel. Sometimes there are considerable spaces between the paddles and the edge of the housing making the blower less than efficient. In this case I recommend a modification that would seal that gap by placing rubber inserts on the paddles tight to the housing so that there is no space. Here is a youtube video from a gentleman who explains this process simply and should be of assistance. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs8pPJCJf-4oHQGptU4lHyA

My snowblower does not seem to run at full speed. Barely throws snow recently. Any adjustments I can make?

There is a spring attached to the throttle linkage. At the other end is an arm that the spring attaches to. Bend the arm so that the spring is tighter and it will throttle up higher under a load. Don't go too far or you will take a chance of blowing the engine. Best to use a rpm tester and set it to factory specs.

Toro S200 doesn't blow to the side as far as it did

It's possible your auger may be worn, and it is not moving / propelling enough snow to make up the difference to blow the snow at the angled setting. It may throw the snow forward better due to less resistance, rather than the snow having to propel around an angle / curve. Just a thought for now.
