4 pin mic wiring colors?
If I'm not to nosey what kind of mic is it that you are trying to wire ? If it is a four pin Galaxy,uniden or connex you can use it but some 4 pins will not be a match . If you have a multi meter you can wire it up real quick by following Melanie's wiring for a c50
Would need to know the mic wire code you going to use. but half moon cut out at top as you look at it is top left 1-4 next row left side 2-3. 1 is cable/ unshield (common). 2 is MOD 3 is TX 4is RX... 1 is wire with no cover 2 is with cover rapped round wire RX is received TX is transmit, hope this helps. newer mic have different code wires so check with meter, red green and blue and shield is on some of the new wiring.

1 Shield 2 White 3 Red 4 Black if the radio keys up as soon as you turn it on reverse 3 and 4 I am not familiar with that mic.But the way I actually should have given you the wiring order is as follows:1Shield 2 Modulation 3 and 4 key up I hope this helps.

I suggest buying a 5 pin to 4 pin adapter. Ebay has them for $6. I would go chopping wires on the mic. Cobra 29 ltd is a nice radio. Have one myself.

Use trial and error systemathically. If still refuses to work, mike and radio aren't compatibles.

If you bought the mic new it came with a sheet telling what wires do what, most of those are six wire mics.
In your radio: 1=shield, 2=audio,3=transmit, 4=receive.
On most astatic mics shield is braided shield wire, audio is white, transmit is red and blue is receive.
The other two wires should be yellow and black, the yellow will not be needed and you may have to connect the black to either pin one or pin 4.
Best way to do this is wire the shield and receive first and connect mic, if you have receive, then go for the audio and transmit.
There are a couple of versions of this radio so you may have to experiment to get it right, Keep the solder connections neat and the wire short.
