I be leave the bench bleed is standard protocol but if it is already installed you may need to power bleed it. this is easier in a shop unless you have the tools.

Bisell 9500 replaced hepa filter vacuum not turning on

Some (not all) of them have a wire or switch that the filter must press back between the filter and the back of the vacuum. It prevents the vacuum from running unless the filter is installed correctly (they never tell customers about this)

HOW TO TEST A DYSON MOTOR.

A DC-7 has a Panasonic motor which is the best part of it. I have never seen one of those fail within the life expectancy. You do have to consider that a Dyson was never designed to last more than 5 years. The newer Dysons are only designed to last 2 years. If the motor runs for 15 minutes and overheats, my first guess would be a faulty heat sensor on the motor. If it ran only 30 seconds or so, probably a bad motor.

Model, 116.c85pbpk0v022 Power-Mate Jr. attachment stopped working, could it be a part within the unit (i.e. the electrical component) or do I need to replace the unit? How do I troubleshoot the electrical...

This model frequently stops because, lint, hair, etc. gets caught between the two end pieces of the brush cylinder. Do the following to fix it:

1) Remove the two Philips screws from the underside of the unit.
2) The side with the tag will then flip forward. Do not turn the unit over or a few parts fall out. It's not terrible if they come out but it is a little more trouble to reassemble.
3) Lift the brush cylinder out of its cradle and remove the belt.
4) Pull one end cap off the cylinder using a pair of pliers at both ends of the cylinder.
5) There is a steel rod in the center. Slide it out of the cylinder. The debris will be under the end caps wrapped around the rod.
6) Remove the debris.
7) Put the rod back through the cylinder.
8) Press the end cap that was removed back on the splined rod making sure both ends are in line with each other.
9) Slide the belt over the cylinder. The cylinder only goes on one way. The end with no bristles is where the belt goes.
10) Place the cylinder back in its cradle. You will need to stretch the belt slightly to do this step.
11) Hinge the cover back on and install the two screws. Unit should now work.

Hope it helps somebody.

8955 Upright Vacuum: How to change belt?...

Be sure to unplug your vacuum from the electrical outlet before proceeding!

-Turn your vacuum upside down so that the handle is resting on the floor and nozzle portion is resting on a work bench.
-Remove the 2 phillips screws from the metal bottom plate and set the bottom plate aside.
-Look at the right side of the brush roll. You will see a bent metal rod that attaches to the brush roll end cap. This is the clutch rod that allows your brush roll to spin or not depending on the position of the carpet/floor switch on the top of the nozzle. Pull this rod out of the brush roll clutch only. Leave the switch end of the rod where it is and just let the rod rest there.
-Pull the brush roll and old belt out and dispose of the old belt.
To install a new belt; put the new belt on the motor shaft first, next put the other end of the belt over the end of the brush roll and stretch belt and brush roll back in to place. Notice that on the brush roll end cap opposite of where the clutch rod goes, there is a metal piece with a slot cut into it. Be sure that this slot mates with the plastic stop in the nozzle so that the end cap cannot move.
Snap the clutch rod back in place and rotate the brush roll by hand to make sure the belt is not pinched.
Replace the bottom plate.

Passat 2000 W Reg Had the rear brakes and disks changed then a month later had a front tyre replaced and as I drove off something went tinkle tinkle on the road (like someone had left a spanner). Week...

The ABS module has a history of wearing out on VWs. Nothing wrong with the brakes themselves, but the ABS module would need to be replaced to stop the lights coming on... but the problem is a new ABS module can be very expensive for a new one (~$900) or you can sometimes get a rebuilt one for a couple of hundred dollars.

While the ABS is broken, your car has regular normal brakes like cars have had for decades.
