The filter fits on the end of the fuel pickup line inside the gas tank. If you see the filter just rolling around in the tank it probably has hardened or damaged fuel lines. Size them up and get replacement lines online or at your local outdoor equipment retailer.

SOURCE: Just bought a used leaf blower, homelite, gas leaks out of the gas tank, where the gas tube fits into it.

"top of the gas tank where the gas tube fits into the tank"

I assume you're describing the gas tank cap. if so, the o-ring is missing from the gas tank cap. You can find those at hardware stores.

SOURCE: on weedeater blower and vac gas line is broke from

Yes if your asking about the fuel line yes it hooks to the filter out thru the wall of the gas tank straight into the carb. if it broke out side the tank you can try a smaller plastic hose to stick inside to reconnect the two parts. if it broke inside the tank try to replace as one hose.

Probably a couple of screws that you took out to access the carb from inside the air filter housing. Probably Torx head screws. You line up the carb and put the air filter housing back on over the carb, lining up the holes in the engine block.

Does this look like the answer you were seeking? Or did I mis-understand?

SOURCE: Homelite 26 BV Gas Leaf Blower

sounds like you had fuel leak into the cylinder over the winter. The liquid in the cylinder is what made it so hard to pull that first time, as it won't compress like air. What you do, is take the spark plug out, pull the starting rope several times, dry off the spark plug, and let both sit(plug out of the cylinder.) for a couple of hours. Then put the plug back in, put the wire back on it, put it on full choke, and pull until it hits once. Then put it on half choke, and pull til it starts.

I have a Homelite "Vac Attack" leaf blower model

The fuel line is replaceable by itself, you don't need a new tank. Just make sure you get the same size line or it will leak where it goes into the tank. Any local small engine repair shop should have the line. There are two lines that go into the tank, the pickup line has the filter on it. It not only filters the gas but keeps the end of the line down in the fuel.

Fuel line connections in the tank ?

The one without the filter is ok just being a little inside the tank. Make sure that line is hooked to outlet on the primer that pushes pressure into tank.
