Light is flashing on Resume on my HP Deskjet F2110 All-in-One printer scanner copier. What does that means?

Regular paper, envelopes, or specialty media may get stuck or jammed in the printer. Follow the instructions below to find and remove jammed paper (or other media) from the printer. If the HP All-in-One has a paper jam, first check the rear door. If the jammed paper is not in the rear rollers, check the front door.

Step one: Check for and remove any paper stuck in the paper In tray

    1. Remove all loose paper from the paper In tray.
    2. Press the RESUME button.
      • If the paper jam is cleared, skip to Step Four
      • If the paper is still jammed, continue on to the next step below.
  • If more than one sheet is stuck in the printer, remove the paper, one sheet at a time by taking hold of a sheet in the middle of the stack and, with both hands and firm, even pressure, pull the sheet towards you. Usually, removing one or two sheets from the middle of the stack will release the pressure and the rest of the stack can be removed.
  • After removing the paper, check to make sure no scraps of paper are stuck in the printer.
    • If the paper jam is cleared, skip to Step Four.
    • If the paper is still jammed, continue on to the next section.

  • Step two: Clearing a paper jam from the back of the printer

If the paper jam is not accessible from the In tray, follow the instructions below to clear the paper from the back of the printer.
    1. Unplug the HP All-in-One.
    2. Press in the tab on the left side of the rear door to release the door. Remove the door by pulling it away from the HP All-in-One. Figure 1: Removing the rear door

    b4334db0-9c6c-4a8d-be58-38a7346f3e8c.jpg

    1. Gently pull the paper out of the rollers. caution.png
CAUTION:If the paper tears when removing it from the rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might be remaining inside the device. If all of the pieces of paper are not removed from the HP All-in-One, more paper jams are likely to occur.
    2. Replace the rear door. Gently push the door forward until it snaps into place.
    3. Press Cancel to continue the current job.
      • If the paper jam is cleared, skip to Step Four
      • If the paper is still jammed, continue on to the next section.

Step three: Lift the front cover and slowly remove any jammed paper

    1. Unplug the power cable.
    2. If necessary, pull the input tray down to open it. Then, lower the print cartridge door. Figure 2: Lowering the print cartridge door

    1. Gently pull the paper out of the rollers. caution.png
CAUTION:If the paper tears when while removing it from the rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might be remaining inside the device. If all the pieces of paper are not removed from the HP All-in-One, more paper jams are likely to occur.
    2. Close the print cartridge door.
Figure 3: Closing the print cartridge door

    4b07607d-706b-46d4-8067-d6d9c380a6ec.jpg
    1. Plug the power cable into the HP All-in-One.
    2. Turn the power on.
    3. Press Start Copy Black or Start Copy Color to continue the current job.

Step four: Verify the print cartridge carriage can move freely

    1. Unplug the power cable.
    2. Check to see if the print cartridge carriage can move freely from one side of the printer to the other. If the carriage is to the right and out of plain view, skip to Step Five. Do not try to force it to move if it is hung up on something. [img src="http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf-JAVA/Image/common/note.png" alt="">
NOTE:Be careful not to force the print cartridge carriage. If the carriage is stuck, forcing it to move will damage the printer.
      • If the carriage does not move, continue with the next step below.
  • Remove the print cartridges.
  • Step five: Reload and test the printer

Once the jammed paper is removed, verify that the printer is still functioning properly.
    1. Reload the printer with plain paper.
    2. Perform a self-test by pressing and holding the Resume button until the printer starts printing. A test page should print.
    note.png
NOTE:Do not put more than 35 sheets of plain paper in the document feeder tray.
  • Gently move the print cartridge to the far right of the printer.
  • Remove the paper from the paper In tray, but do not remove the drawer.
  • Remove the rear access door.
  • With your fingers, rotate the rollers "up" three full rotations.
  • Push the rear access door back into the printer until it snaps firmly into place.
  • Replace the print cartridges.
  • Plug the power cable into the HP All-in-One.
  • Turn the power on.

  • Step six: Service the printer

Perform all the steps mentioned above. If the problem continues, service the printer.
Cause Paper jams can be caused by several factors. Follow these guidelines to prevent further paper jams.
    • Insert paper into the paper tray only until it meets resistance. Do not push it farther in.
    • Make sure that the paper is flat in the paper tray and that the guide is adjusted to the width of the paper.
    • Do not add paper while the product is printing.
    • Remove printed pages frequently.
    • Do not use paper that is too thin, too slick, or that stretches.
    • Do not use torn or creased paper. Used paper might cause jams.
    • Make sure that the rear access door is securely fastened.

There is a paper jam...how do I unjam it

    Hi dorothyhover,

Here's how you would clear paper jam from your Brother HL 1430:

    1. Remove the paper cassette completely from the printer.

    2.
Pull any jammed paper up and out of the printer.

    3.
Open the front cover and remove the drum unit assembly.

    4. Pull any jammed paper up and out of the printer.

Do not remove the drum unit assembly with additional force at this time if you cannot remove it easily. Instead, pull the edge of the jammed paper from the paper cassette.

    5. Open the rear cover and pull the paper towards the back of the printer, the fuser may get dirty with toner powder and may result in toner scatter on the next printed page or pages. Print a few copies of the test page until the toner scatter on the printed pages clears.

    6. Close the rear cover and install drum unit assembly, close the front cover.

    Hope it helps.

    Thank you for using Fixya.

How do I re-set after a paper jam hp psc 1200?

Verify that the print cartridge door is closed.
The print carriage may be jammed, follow these steps to correct the problem:
    1.
Open the print cartridge access door. If the print carriage can move, it should move to center. If the print carriage stays all the way left, unplug the power cord and then plug it back in. This will reset the unit and may allow the print carriage to move from the left.
    2.
Disconnect the power cord from the all-in-one.
    3.
    Remove both print cartridges.
    4.
Move the print carriage left and right slightly to verify that the print carriage will move freely. If the print carriage will not move freely, check for obstructions.
    5.
Close the print cartridge access door.
    6.
Plug the power cord back in.
    7.
After the all-in-one initializes, the print cartridge light will flash. Open the access door and install the print cartridges.
    8.
Close the print cartridge access door. If the problem returns, remove the print cartridges and wipe the electrical contacts before reinstalling them.

Try to make a copy. If the all-in-one pulls in paper but cannot make a copy, there may be a problem with the scanner mechanism. Contact HP for assistance.

If that doesn't work, maybe try this too:

    Clearing paper jams
Paper jams can occur for a variety of reasons but are usually paper related. Follow the steps below to clear the paper jam:

    1.
Turn off the all-in-one and unplug the power cord. With the power off, the paper feed rollers will turn.
    2.
Open the rear access door of the all-in-one by pressing in on the left side of the access door and then pulling it toward you.
NOTE: All paper jams must be removed by pulling the paper out the back of the all-in-one using the rear access door. Pulling the paper out the front of the all-in-one rotates the paper feed rollers in the wrong direction and can lead to additional problems.

Inspect the pressure rollers on the rear access door and verify that they are clean and turn freely. Clean the rollers if needed with a soft towel lightly moistened with water. If the rollers do not turn freely, replace the rear access door.
    *
If under warranty, contact HP to obtain a replacement part.
    *
Click How to buy on this page to order replacement parts.
    3.
From the rear access door opening, gently pull the jammed paper free.
    4.
Remove the remaining paper from the paper supply tray. Discard any paper that is damaged or crumpled and then re-stack and reload the paper into the paper supply tray.
Do not continue to push the paper in after some resistance is felt. If the paper is pushed in too far, more than one page will feed into the all-in-one at a time.
    5.
Reattach the rear access door by inserting the two pins on the right of the door into the holes for them and then pressing in gently but firmly on the left side.

    6.
Reconnect the power cord to the unit and turn the unit on. Source(s): http://www.castleink.com

    does this help you ?

Issue While printing, copying, or receiving a fax, a paper jam occurs. If the jammed paper is removed incorrectly, other problems may occur. Clearing paper jams Remove the jammed paper by following the steps below: WARNING: Jammed paper must be removed using the rear access door to avoid mechanical damage. Do not remove jammed paper from the front of the all-in-one.
    1. Turn off the HP product and turn it so the back of the all-in-one faces you.
    2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the all-in-one. CAUTION: The power cord must be disconnected to allow the paper feed rollers to turn freely and avoid mechanical damage.
    3. Locate and open the rear access door by pressing in on the left side tab to release the catches and then pulling the door toward you. Figure 1: Removing the rear access door c00100775.jpg
    4. Inspect the pressure rollers on the rear access door and verify that they are clean and turn freely. Clean the rollers if needed with a soft towel lightly moistened with water. If the rollers do not turn freely, replace the rear access door. Click How to Buy on this page to order replacement parts.

    7. Reinstall the rear access door.
    8. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the all-in-one.
Preventing paper jams The following information will help prevent paper jams from occurring:
    • Never use paper that is wrinkled or damaged in any way.
    • If you are having problems using paper that has already been printed on once (recycling), replace it with fresh paper.
    • Remove and then reinstall the rear access door. Verify that the access door is fully locked in place. The paper can skew if the rear access door isn't locked.
    • Every six months to one year, clean the paper feed rollers with a rag lightly moistened with clean water. Over time the paper feed rollers accumulate dust and do not function as well as they once did.
    • When printing envelopes, tuck the flap into the envelope and crease the folds before printing.
