How do I deregister an orphaned Vtech sb67108 handset to use on another bases without the original base

I have an orphaned Vtech SB67108 Wireless handset that i need to unregister without the orginal base

    found this works like a charmAT&T / V-Tech SB67118 Base & SB67108 Handset To access the service menu and deregister handsets: 1. On handset, press Menu 2. Enter code: *883247# 3. Scroll down to Deregister and press Enter 4. Remove handset battery for 10 seconds 5. Handset will restart and display the 'Please Register with Base Station' message.

Here are the steps: Press menu, then press *883247# and then press the up arrow. Select deregister and then unplug and take the battery out for 10 seconds. Plug the phone back in and it's ready to be registered to another device.

  • Press # on the handset and the phone registers itself to the base station.
I repeated the above procedure with my two remaining handsets and now I have a 6 handset cordless system for my home.
It's important to note that if you have a working base station you should use the standard instructions for deregistering the handsets. Each handset gets allocated a handset number by the base station, if you deregister using the special code detailed in this post then the reserved handset number on the base station is consumed and cannot be reclaimed; thus reducing the number of handsets the base station can support by 1. To un-register the SB67108 handset from a base unit, SB67118 or SB67138, you will need to do these steps in order:
1. Press menu
2. Key in this sequence *883247#
3. Select deregister
4. Unplug the battery for minimum 10 seconds
5. Plug battery back in and it will want to be registered.
6. Follow the directions in your base unit manual to reregister it.

I need to deregister a DS6101 without the base. I needed to replace the base and once we installed the new base, the extra handset that we had registered with our old base shows the following message...
Called the manufactuer.... To do this enter on the handset you want to deregister:

*331734# and press (Menu Key# 1 - top uppermost left button that is unmarked).


This will put the handset back into the register mode.
