drive belt is normally accessed from the rear of the machine or if sealed rear from underneath(bottom) the belt is normally easier to get off the drive motor pulley first . Sounds like your belt is either already broken or has come away from drive unit or drum .
If your pump ain't locked up, your lid switch and motor are fine then I would say you have a worn out thrust bearing. The main pulley releases the brake on this bad boy when the motor reverses and lets the tub turn free. With age the pulley wears out and won't release that drum.
It could be several causes. If the electric motor in the carpet "head" is whirring but the brush isn't spinning, then the drive belt there has either failed or slipped off the pulley. You can purchase replacement belts, and installing one isn't that difficult, even if you don't have any instructions.
If the small electric motor in the head isn't running, then it could be it's not getting power (check all connections) or the motor itself is bad.
Hiya,
there is a couple of reasons for slow spinng that spring to mind the 1st is a worn out drive belt maybe a replacement will solve your problem the other would be a motor issue, i would surgest taking the easy option & check the belt is on tight, if you turn it by hand does it slip this would give you a good sign before you spend any money,
Always remember if you are going to try this check to switch off all power & remove the plug from the wall before opening the machine.
u have a tub washer under the tub it sounds like it is broke and will cause this noise it a pain to get to but if u r mechanically inclined go ahead and tackle it it shouldnt be too bad
if you have to spay the belt to get it to stop then the belt is most likly streched or bad. take the belt off and turn all the free spinng pullys alt, power steering,a/c,ect if all spin good with no horible sounds then replace the belt , if any turn hard then this is what the problem is.but im betting it's the belt
if you have aaccess to the belt already,
start the machine let it fill
then keeping an eye on the motor and the clutch underneath it, sounds like your clutch might be slipping..
you will notice immediately the motor will be spinnging but the clutch will not engage
