Unable to check ink levels on deskjet f4140

The link to check ink levels doesn't open - toolbox link doesn't open either - they cause Solution Center to stop responding

The ink guage on my HP quit also but I was able to access via the tool box. Not sure if this is a software issue or the touch screen. You might be able to access the ink level when you go to print and do advanced settings. The ink level may be presented depending on your print program.

SOURCE: I used to refill the ink cartridge of HP Deskjet D1460 by injecting ink. The problem is the level of ink is not resetted to full level, its still very low level. However, the printer prints normally

Close the top left pin at head contactor (1 pin only), with tape. Plug it in head carriage. Unplug it. Close to top rigtht with tape too. Plug the head. Unplug head. Remove all the tape cleanly. Plug again. See ink monitor.

To check the ink levels ofyour printer click on the start button of te computer and then click on control panel now go to printers and faxes open it and look for the name of your printer right click on the icon and go to properties now click on printing preferences and then go to the features tab in the features tab look for the printer service tab now go to the estimated ink level tab and see the ink level

If you are running Windows 7 I believe it has been disabled. There are some work arounds but I'm not sure.

How to check ink levels in a HP officejet J4580 printer

Checking ink levels

open HP solution center on the computer desktop screen
click on settings on the bottom
click printer toolbox
click the estimated ink levels tab

on the printer control panel,push the wrench button
press the right arrow to go to print report
push OK
select self test
push OK

It will print a page with color bars signifying correct ink levels.If a color bar is blank it means it's empty or depleted and needs to be replaced

How do i check the ink level on my 6940 inkjet printer ?

Open the Printer Toolbox . There are two ways to do this:
- Open HP Solution Center , select Settings , and then Printer Toolbox .
- If the HP Solution Center method does not work, open Printers and Faxes in the Windows Control Panel, then right-click the printer icon and choose Printing Preferences . Click the Features tab, and then click the Printer Services button.
The Printer Toolbox opens. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab. A cartridge may be running out of ink even if the graphic shows otherwise. (see the note at the start of this section). Lines or streaks always appear in printouts when the cartridges begin to run out of ink. Replace print cartridges that are out of ink or low on ink.

There is no icon on the taskbar, and I cannot figure out how to check the ink level.

The HP Toolbox can be used to check ink Levels

Right-click the taskbar printer icon .
Click Open HP Deskjet 5550 Series Toolbox .
Click the Estimated Ink Level tab.
Check ink levels (estimate only, actual ink levels may vary)

View estimated ink levels
Follow these instructions to view the estimated ink levels of the print cartridges that are installed in the printer:

1. Open the printer Toolbox.
2. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab.

Note If the print cartridges were used before being installed in the printer, the
estimated ink levels will not appear on the Estimated Ink Level tab.
The Estimated Ink Level tab also contains print cartridge ordering information. To view
this information, click the Print Cartridge Information button.

Where can I download the deskjet 932c toolbox?

try downloading complete driver and software from HP.

You can open the door and the ink will go to the smily face or the frown telling you ink is low or good.

Printer Toolbox

Use the printer Toolbox to perform the following tasks:

• Align the print cartridges
• Automatically clean print cartridges
• Print a test page
• View estimated ink levels -This is what you would click on.

To open the printer Toolbox

1. Open the Printer Properties dialog box.

2. Click the Features tab, and then click the Printer services button.

The Toolbox is displayed.

Checking ink levels

In the HP Solution Center, click Settings , and then click Printer Toolbox .

Toolbox utility

The HP Deskjet 1280 doesn't appear to have a toolbox utility at all, especially for Vista, there's even less.

How are you supposed to check the ink levels without such a utility?
