White smoke is usually a sign that there is a problem with the cooling system. Blue smoke is fuel related.
Have the cooling system checked at a guess I would say this is water leaking into the cylinders which indicates a cylinder head gasket fault. A faulty cylinder head gasket would also cause slight loss of compression which could explain the loss of power. remove the oil filler cap on the engine if there is a sign of a light brown (cream) coloured substance (water contaminated oil) on the cap or in the cover then the head gasket needs replacing also check the dipstick.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: the rev is going up & down on idle & when driving

have you checked your air inlet manifold for any leakages by spraying WD40 around each portall bolted to the cylinderhead gasket, check for vacuum air pipes deterioration.make sure the engine is running first ,then spray WD40 to check that the engine speed should increase.it sounds like your engine is haveing problems breathing due to heavy hydro carbons increasing./and your CO2% is dropping.

SOURCE: White Smoke that smells liek fuel, but not overheating

It sounds like the rings are washed out for some reason. any chance you filled up at a gas station with water in there gas ? if it was me I would do a compression test and see if it is low , and it sounds like it might be then leave the plugs out and put oil in each cly turn engine over a few times and let sit over night or at least serveral hours , this will free the rings up , fuel and miss fires will wash the rings out and running will get you white smoke , after oil has set in cyl now you have to clean it out if you have qa air compressor you can shoot air into each keeping a rag over so you dont make a mess, and you can keeping one end in hand send a rag down to soak it up, you will most likely have to pull the plugs out and clean them with break clean a few times till the engine will stay running once it stays running it will smoke until the oil is gone but the compression should be back to normal and cleared up it might smoke for over an hour once you get it running you can hold throttle to 2000 rpm as well this helps a bunch. but find out where compression should be and check it . I think some how either the missfire or bad gas. did you replace any coils or coil pack ? is the miss fire gone?

SOURCE: 2000 TDI - Lots of white smoke at cold start.

Sounds like your injection pump timing is off, an injector is leaking or a bad seal on your IP.
VW dealers have a horrible reputation when it comes to TDI's. Check out the posts over at www.tdiclub.com Those guys are very knowledgeable - and the first thing they'll tell you is don't take it to a dealer.
You can probably find someone in your area that has a copy of Vag-Com (scantool software that vw uses) software that could look at your timing. It definitely sounds like your dealer was throwing parts at your car because they didn't know what your problem is. If I were you, I'd copy and paste your post from here over at www.tdiclub.com

Ford focus 1.6 petrol white smoke and smell of petrol

I'm assuming this is not a diesel...

White smoke would be very unusual, it would usually be steam rather than smoke. If I'm right, then it will be dissipating very quickly unless it's in freezing temperatures?

To get white smoke AND the smell of petrol best guess is that it's a cracked cylinder head or head gasket allowing coolant into the cylinder, the leak is so bad that the cylinder is unable to fire so the raw fuel from that cylinder is being pushed out the exhaust, along with the water (steam).

An accompanying symptom would be running rough/chugging, most noticeable at lower revs. If you drive the car like this then you'll quickly damage the catalytic converters in your exhaust so don't!

My truck sits still, runs good. if i rev it up it will start to smoke,a little than real heavey. if i drive it , as i speed up it sounds like its loading up then it will rev up on its own real high an

Having to guess whether this is a gasoline or diesel motor and it would help to know if smoke was white, blue, or black as each is a discharge of either water, oil, or gasoline or diesel fuel.
The high revving is an indicator of your main problem. Something is being drawn into the cylinders and the rate and volume are not being regulated. At idle, a slow draw is producing minimum smoke. Then the problem gets worse as you increase RPM to drive the truck.
If this is a carbureted gasoline engine, check the power valve in the carburetor for rupture. If this is an injected gas engine, the TPS switch may be causing the flooding. Also for carbureted engines, the gasohol fuels eat up the rubber parts inside the carburetor and make the gaskets swell. Older carburetors need rebuilding with alcohol resistant gaskets and components.
Another possibility is a fuel pressure regulator for the injected models. Also try unplugging vacuum lines and observing if transmission fluid or other substances are inside the vacuum lines.
Each generation of Onboard computer has different capabilities. Yours is several generations old. But there are a few problems your system could report. That would mean that the monitored systems are not the problem.
You might want to remove a sparkplug and see how it is firing and what type of deposit might be on the electrode.
If your engine still has a vacuum advance on the distributor, check the vacuum pod. Trucks were built "old-style" as pollution laws differed for cars and trucks and some trucks were even exempt by weight class.
Would like to know the end result of your case.

Audi 2.5tdi white smoke on exhaust low revs

Hi
White smoke is usually a good sign of un-burnt diesel so reading your post and all the things you have already changed ie the glow plugs I would have the injectors tested to make sure they are atomising properly as it sounds to me like when your car isn't under load ie at low revs you have a cylinder that isn't firing correctly
Hope this helps Nick

i would check all the basics like spark plugs and check for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold. With a can of 2+2 carb cleaner while engine is running --if idle goes up or down that is were your leak is--
check egr too, Lee

Smoke is coming out from under my hood...checked antifreeze and oil so it fine

white smoke usualy tells about a leakage in the cooling. check that. dont forgett to refill. get it repaired or DIY. attention: could be really hot.

if it smells like fuel, a fuel line is broken. then dont drive any more since it can catch fire.

if the smoke is not white, go to the repair shop instantly.
