If the door of your Samsung BD-C5500 Blu-ray player is no longer opening and closing with the disc tray, it may be due to a misaligned or disconnected door mechanism. Here are the steps to reattach the door so that it opens and closes with the disc tray:
Unplug the Blu-ray player from the power outlet.
Locate the small white gear wheel that controls the opening and closing of the door. This gear is located near the front of the disc tray, on the right-hand side.
Check the gear to see if it is misaligned or if there are any broken parts. If the gear is misaligned, carefully realign it so that it meshes correctly with the other gears in the mechanism. If any parts are broken, you may need to replace the mechanism or the entire Blu-ray player.
Once the gear is aligned, locate the metal arm that connects the gear to the door. This arm is located on the left-hand side of the door.
Carefully reattach the metal arm to the plastic tab on the door. You may need to use a small screwdriver or pliers to hold the tab in place while you attach the arm.
Once the arm is securely attached, plug in the Blu-ray player and test the door mechanism by pressing the open/close button on the remote or on the front panel of the player. The door should now open and close with the disc tray.
If you are unable to reattach the door mechanism or if the problem persists, it is recommended that you contact a professional repair service or the manufacturer for further assistance.
Electronics Corporation sells inexpensive DVD players. The DVD players, however, often exhibit problems due to their manufacture and way that they work, which must be dealt with during the course of the player's life. Knowing what these problems are beforehand can aid in resolving difficulties when using the DVD player. In some cases, it can help eliminate the problem before it can become catastrophic
The disc door is not properly closed if the Disc player display shows an "Open" error message. Check that there are no gaps in the door and use the remote to open the disc door. If it will not open, unplug the Disc player and gently pull out the disc door and then push it in. Plug the Disc player back into the AC socket.
If the DVD has not been inserted properly into the disc tray, a "No Disc" error message will come up on the display. Eject the disc and lightly flick off dust using the edge of a lintless cloth. Inspect the disc for damage. Insert it carefully again into the disc tray and use the remote to close the disc door.
Because the Disk player is inexpensive, the power supply is not of the highest quality. Having a surge protector to plug into the Disc player will help to keep the power supply from being damaged over the course of its lifetime.
You need to replace the disc tray belt,it streches with age.It is called a square belt, size 1.9.To open try tapping on TOP of cabinet with your knuckles just above the disc tray door. While you are doing this press the Open button.Once again this must be done at the same time, the door will open 90% of the time. When you get it open you will see the little black square belt, this can be removed and replaced with a twizzers.Make sure belt is in the track if not it will jam and door won't close.
the reason the disc door would not come out is because there is a problem withe the mechanism that opens the door.
to fix this, 1. you unscrew the dvd player, 2. take off the cover, 3. plug the dvd and press open to see if the door would open, then you will see where it is getting stuck, 4. replace the mechanism that is controlling the disc door, and press open to see if the door will open. 5. once it is able to open up, you can screw back the cover.
The magnetic weight thats mounted on top of the dvd drive on the inside has came loose and jamming the door. Also it wont read the discs if this happens. I repair drive issues in PS3 and 360's with 99% success
I have the problem of it refusing the disc if the door opens before I have filled the whole disc and finalized it. As long as I don't open the door till the disc is full and finalized, it works.
try blowing dry air by the disc port, to clean the reading eye(pickup),(get a can at radio shack),prices of today put you to think abouth repair or buy a new one, you decide...good luck
