The screen on my treadmill seems to work fine. I can enter and progam without any problem but as soon as I hit start and the motor turns on then the circuit breaker immediately trips. I have tried other circuits but the same thing keeps on happening. What could be causing this to happen ?
Hi Lenny
This will either be the motor or the MCB .
If you bought it new it will have a lifetime warranty on the motor.
Ring Icon . They are the distributor of this brand .
Either a faulty Motor Controller Board or Motor.
Disconnect the power lead.
Disconnect the Motor from the Controller board.
Then reconnect the power lead.
Press 'start' and see if this trips the electrics.
If the electrics trip when the Motor is not connected to the Controller board, then the Controller board is faulty.
Disconnect the power lead then test the Motor.
Try running the Motor with a Drill Battery, connected to the Motor leads.
These tests should only be done if you are competent to carry out the tests.
Caution at all times Lethal Voltages are present

SOURCE: Nordic Track treadmill trips GFI.
Have you lubricated the the running deck? The lack of lubrication can increase friction thus causing the GFI to trip. simple test start the treadmill do not walk on a see if the GFI is tripped in it does trip then lubricate, then if after lubricate it still the you have a worn belt and possibly damaged deck depending replacement price and on what you paid for the treadmill it may or may not be worth fixing.

If the console takes batteries, replace them. If this does not work or your console does not require batteries, check the reed switch or optic sensor. Reed Switch: Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood cover. The reed switch is mounted on the frame next to the front roller pulley. There is a magnet glued into the front roller pulley. When adjusting the reed switch, make sure it is pointing directly at the magnet. Move the tip of the reed switch within 1/8" of the magnet. Also, check to see that the wire is not damaged, and is connected to the console
1( tight the ribbon cable and clean it,
2) tight the plug from display board , and clean it.
3) tight the display board vs lower board and clean it unplugged the power
4) test the fuse and replace if necessary or c.breaker reset.
5( Finally adjust the REED SWITCH , clean it and tight the plug very well see the diagram attached.
6) see the block attached. finally the display board can be faulty.
God bless you
