SOURCE: LG DLG2524W DRYER WORKS FINE EXCEPT DOESN'T HEAT UP

1. Open dryer door and remove the phillips head screws at the 5 and 7 O'Clock positions. 2. Remove three screws at very back, allowing top cover to be moved back about an inch and lifted off. 3. remove screw at top left and top right from front top panel. 4. pull plastic front panel along top edge to release front top panel. (watch for sharp edges) 5. Swing top up and over onto top of dryer. 6. Unplug light and door switch. 7. remove four screws at top of large lower panel. 8. lift panel up a bit and off. 9. unplug sensor plug at bottom allowing panel with door to be set aside. 10. gas dryer has dime sized high limit thermostat on left front side of burner chamber. Has two wires on it, with a small pin in the center. Push the pin in. Reassemble and clean out vent, eliminating flexible venting, replacing with rigid aluminum piping and elbows. Outside vent should have a four inch vent flap opening, not just a two inch if it is that style.

SOURCE: LG dlg5988W Gas Dryer - flashing "clean filter" light

i got the same problem and no repair man could help . i think i just got mine fixed 6-15-09 .what you do is go behind the dryer , remove the air duct and then remove the pipe that is inside the machine by removing one screw . this will give you access inside the machine .first clean as much as you can of the lint inside by vacuuming it . if you look to the left you will see 2 wires with a black button in the middle this is the ignitor ,clean it good because i think the dirt is not allowing it to light up . i did that and mine is working but the cooling light is still on .

SOURCE: LG TROMM DRYER DLE5977 Burning Smell

It is a POS dryer, we have the same one. My suggestion get another dryer. We vacuumed it all out (don't you have a problem with the lint catcher?) Then it started loud pounding noise, which a lot of people seem to have the same problem, then our sensor went out and we had to dry the clothes 5-10 x's...now crack in stainless steel drum and is chewing up all our expensive clothes!

It could be a thermostat in the unit there are two and it could be registering wrong and shutting down the fire early. No way to check them though unless you put a tester on them while its running and see if they are shutting off the fire during a cycle

LG Dryer DLE2516W contiuously trips breaker but only on heat setting greater than low

Your circuit breaker may be bad. Run dryer and if breaker gets hot after 10min or so the breaker is bad.
Higher heat settings draw more amperage thus tripping the bad or undersized breaker. 30 amp 2 pole breaker required.
Ck. the power cord for signs of arching. Replace power cord or outlet if damaged.

Dryer smells hot and back panel near heating

your duct is clogged or the limit snapstat is not working. turn dryer on and go outside to the duct vent , their should be a minimum temp of 10 degrees, and a maximum 15 degrees outside. also sometimes just cleaning the lint from inside the dryer, can cause this smell for no more than 5 minutes. thanks karl
