the common cause of blank screen is back light failure , this can be caused be the invertor board or at worse the scree itself . With no model or make i am unable to help further and recomend you seek advice from a local service engineer
its probably your caps on the signal module c2p05 and c2p08 100uf 16v capacitors did the problem used to only happen when it was cold? = caps is there rolling bars? is it a dark unstable picture? = caps

Here is a solution buy a coax to RGB converter they run from $20- $30 at radioshack this will shore up that problem as it will use channel 3 as the input of choice.
Did you check the cable connections? They may have become loose or have obtained some dust. I would suggest to disconnect the cables and reconnecting them. The cables could have also malfuntioned.
