Whirlpool dishwasher not going to the rinse/spraying stage

My whirlpool built in slimline dishwasher is not going through the full cycle. It starts, fills with water but then the'spraying' cycle doesn't start so all I have is hot water in the bottom of the dishwasher and dirty dishes. Fills and drains fine but the motor then appears to go through the motions only.

SOURCE: whirlpool dishwasher drainage problem..

This sounds like a bad timer. The timer is what tells the pump to drain at specified times. If it gets a bad contact, that timed cycle won't happen.

PS: Do you know for sure that the drain is occurring in mid-cycle? If not, you may just have an obstruction in the drain and/or anti-siphon valve (where the hose connects under the dishwasher.

SOURCE: Dishwasher spray arms don't spin & spray water

Could be a a couple different issues.. Not filling with enough water or food chopper broke or food chopper filter screen clogged.

Check water level:
Run the DW and wait for the main wash to start (water will fill. pause then complete fill) The water should be no more than 1/4 inch below the heating element. If not there..replace water inlet valve.

Inspect food chopper:
1. Remove lower spray arm and rear water supply tube to upper spray arm.
2. Remove torx screws that secure the sump cover.
3. Remove primary filter
4. Remove food chopper cover to expose the chopper assembly. Inspect for breakage or blockage.

SOURCE: my dishwasher fills and runs but the water does

There is a drain hose for your dishwasher that often gets clogged. Remove the drain hose and clean it out. reinstall the hose and your dishwasher will drain. The dishwasher should have a panel to remove and then comes out easily, just be careful not to pull it out too far. If this does not fixya then you may need to throw some parts at it, but hopefully not. Good luck

SOURCE: Maytag dishwasher not draining fully

Try cleaning out the air gap.  The air gap is not part of the machine, and is located on your sink. If this becomes clogged, it may cause the machine to not drain properly.  Also, I know you said you checked the drain hose and cleaned as far as the filter and chopper blade, but have you checked the lower filter?  There is a filter located underneath the machine that should periodically be cleaned.  To check this, you need to access the machine from underneath by removing the bottom vanity cover. Hope that one of these helps!

SOURCE: My Diplomat built in Dishwasher fills with water

The most common cause for no washing is a failed wash pump motor. Which is probably the single most expensive part to have replaced on a dishwasher.

Both spray arms of my DU943PWKQ0 do not turn or spray. The motor is moving and the it drains without problem. During the wash and rinse cycle I can hear the sound of water, however it doesn't clean at...

Try rotating the spray arms by hand. It should rotate freely. If possible clean the arm rotating place by removing them.

Arms rotate by by pump pressure only. finally check the water pump also.

AFTER THE WASH AND RINSE CYCLE IT DOES NOT SEEM TO

Bad pump or a kink in the drainline between the appliance and the garbage disposal. And since we're speaking of garbage disposals check to see if scum hasn't built up at the drain orfice on the dishwasher.

Good Luck

Won't full cycle.

Ok. Mine has started working again somewhat. I ran a rinse cycle and the pump motor started working again. I then drained it, and started a regular cycle and it's working again for now. The motor still does not sound right though.

Whirlpool Quiet Partner 2

More likely: the solenoid which directs the water to either the drain or the spray arm is clogged/jammed. Located underneath near the drain line.
