LCD TV turning itself off is not necessarily overheating.
Often, because of a faulty component, capacitors can accumulate electrostatic charge until an error is detected, or a fault condition can last for a while, until a problem is detected, and the protection circuit will force the TV to shutdown.
The only temp sensor that can shut down because of overheating is placed on the main board, and TV shutdown after a while is often not caused by overheating on LCDs.
Parts that often cause shutdown after a time are Power Supply Unit, Inverter, and main controller board.
Parts must be tested to find the fault. The technician can follow the diagrams detailed on service manual to find the fault.
