there are couple protection thermostats on all microwaves. one is cavity t-stat, one is magnetron tstat. if it gets too hot inside the microwave usually cavity thermostat is wired the way that all power will go off to microwave, it will open circuit(usually they not resettable). If magnetron tstat opens up, usually will open circuit to magnetron only (so light is on, seems to run, but no heat). I Hope that helps.

Mainly there are three/four fuses in Microwaves depend to maker.
First one to be checked it is on plug about 13A in cable out side microwave
Second one for power supply usually comes 10A located in terminal board of cable supply in side microwave if you follow the cable.
Third fuse i think about 5A for high voltage it located usually on wire connected between transformer and capacitor.
Fourth some Microwave have third one on the control board located behind switch panel.

now.

if the second fuse is blowing immediately after starting microwave that usually mean one or more of the following need to be replaced

1- diode
2- HV. capacitor
3- magnatiron

Which only can replaced by skill technicians

Unplug Microwave, remove top, thermal fuse located on top to the right and secured to the inner chassis to monitor temperature.

Fuses can be located behind the microwave door or behind a panel either on the interior wall or an exterior panel. Often the fuse will be behind a panel located under the louver vents on top of the microwave.

The fuse can be located on the power supply board. To locate the power supply board, trace the microwave wire back into the microwave. The area where the microwave wire is soldered inside the TV is the power supply board. There is fuse on the board. So this means you have to disassemble the microwave....

Note that microwave store a lot of current, so unplug it and wait for about 30mins before your attempt disassembling it.

Unplug the microwave and remove the screws located at the rear of the microwave holding the outer cabnet. After removing the screws, slide the cabent to the rear of the microwave and remove. Locate the light and replace the bulb and reassemble.
(Warning) microwave ovens require a capasitor to run, The capasitor can hold a charge that can kill you even if the microwave is unpluged. You can discharge the capacitor with a large well insulated screwdriver touching the two wires attached to the top of the capacitor. It there was charge you will witness a spark and now it is safe to repair the microwave.

In all likelihood the mangnetron has failed, or perhaps even the Power Supply. You need to have it serviced by a reputable service centre/man.
Ensure you get a firm "Quote" before proceeding, and remember these days the cost of repair can equal or exceed the price of a new one.
