I have the same issue. I bought the house with the remote and garage door opener installed and according to the previous owner "a lot" of people know the access code. No instruction manual, just need to know how to reprogram the code.

We have a keyless pad that we've used with a 1/2 HP opener for years with no problem. We've had one handheld opener in one of our cars and the other has a programmable feature built into the driver side visor that remotely opens the garage door. We just purchased a second vehicle with that same feature and programmed it, but found that the keyless pad can no longer be programmed. We've changed the battery in the keyless pad and are still unable to program it. Is it possible to have two vehicles programmed with the installed opener feature and also use a keyless pad?

hello - we have a craftsman model 139.53684 and these are the instructions for setting the personal entry code - (you will need two people doing this) To set the code using the Premium control console: 1 Enter a four digit personal ID # of your choice on the keypad then press and hold ENTER. 2 While holding the ENTER button, press and hold the LIGHT button on the premium control console (the premium control console is the main opener button mounted in the garage probably near your door) 3 Continue holding the ENTER and LIGHT buttons while you press the pushbar on the premium control console (now all theses buttons are held) 4 When the motor units lights blink Release buttons - it has learned the new code. If bulbs are not installed you will hear two clicks. To set the code using the 'LEARN' button (you will need a ladder & two people doing this) you used the learn button to set the new remote. 1 press and release the learn button on the motor. The learn indicator light will glow steadily for 30 seconds 2 within 30 seconds enter a four digit personal ID number of your choice ob the keypad then press and hold the ENTER button 3 Release the button when the motor unit lights blink If bulbs are not installed you will hear two clicks. I hope this fixes your problem - please post & let me know - thanks Sam

Ladies / Gentlemen: I have a Craftsman 139.53975SRT1 Garage Door Opener. What is the correct keyless entry pad for this opener? Will a 139.53876 keyless entry pad work with this opener? Thank You! ...

The correct keypad for your opener is 139.53684. The 53876 keypad is an older technology and will not work correctly. If you program it you will find your remotes no longer work and if you reprogram your remotes the keypad will not work.

I moved to a new home with the Sear garage opener 139.53636srt - I am trying to figure out how to program or reprogram the wireless keyless entry pad thats mounted outside the garage.

First thing is to make sure the battery is good.

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to your keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter.

Keylees entry and remote controls do not work at the same time

There are two types of technology with this operator (rolling code and non-rolling code). This operator will except one or the other but not both. It is not uncommon for a rolling code (Security+) remote or keyless to lose the "rolling"part of its technology and become a non-rolling code device so it is not compatable with the rolling code technology. You will need to replace the one remote or keyless that is not like the others.

If I am correct, there is a green button on the opener. Hold that down until it stop blinki ng. Once it has, pres the opener. It should read the code and work the next time you hit the opener remote.
If not, sorry. This has worked for me
