Dvd player always says no disc . will not load

That happens because of a problem with the optical laser lens that is dirty, faulty or opaque, and will start operating on certain disks better than others.

In that case you will hear disk spinning, whirring and clicking, but the TOC (table of content track at start of CD/DVD will not be read, therefore the error.

Whe this problem is starting you may be able to read only few CD, DVD. After more prolonged usage , often the unit will start losing the rest of functions, and ends up not reading anything at all.

If instead there is no noise, and disk does not spin at all , then there is a faulty motor, or the motor micro-switch is bad. This situation is far less common than the lens problem.

Try first using a CD/DVD cleaner disk to clean the lens. If that does not work you will need to disassemble the player, and clean lens directly with q tips and isopropyl alcohol, or to replace the CD/DVD lens, or the whole drive unit.

YP-K3 MP3 Player (books on tape usage)

what do you mean by scrambled? the amount of time it takes to rip a cd depends on your system /ram/read speed of your cd/dvd drive and also the quality you encode your files with. for voice only recordings a bitrate of 96-128kbps 22khz mono / 44khz stereo should be sufficient (you can play with these settings yourself) anything more than that is overkill. stick with formats supported by the player.. mp3/wma/ogg. files encoded in .m4a for example will need to be de-compressed and re-encoded a second time before being transferred. personally i use EAC to copy my music but there are loads of options out there.. mediaplayer, itunes, winamp etc all support rippings features of sorts. hope that helps
