After a paper jam my top border no longer appears on the paper. Printing begins at the very top of the page. It's almost like the paper is getting rolled up too far into the printer when the printing actually begins. The border has slowly gone from thin to non-existant. How can I reset this?

The jam isn't the problem. It's what happened to my paper alignment after the jam.

How to print borderless?

Have a look at settings or paper size, print size etc. There must be a setting you can change to allow for full page printing without a border.

When printing documents no matter how few or how many pages, paper gets stuck in the middle of printing.

Try using regular paper on unit as specified by Samsung. If that does not resolve the issue then the hassle lies with the paper feed mechanism. Often a good cleaning of all the rollers in the path can take care of the issue.

Printing problem in Microsoft Word 2003

Does the bottom border show up in Print Preview? Some printers will not print the full page, to include the border if it is too close to the papers edge. If you adjust the border to be further away from the pages edge, it should print. Instead of applying a page border, you may have to draw a border using a rectangle shape and apply the desired line style.
You can also try to adjust the border margin to measure from "edge of page" instead of measure from "text". This setting is on the options button located on the page border tab under the Borders and Shading window. This may allow you to adjust the margin enough to be able to print the border.

Canon pixma ip 8500 won't feed paper

I have discovered that my problem was a one inch nail which had at some time been dropped into the paper feed slot. It could not be seen from the outside of the printer and was only discovered when I removed the side trim and top cover. When closely inspecting the nylon roller system that feeds the paper out, I saw a tiny piece of metal that looked out of place. Further probing then loosened the nail back to the paper input area.
My printer is now back in full operating condition after spending a couple of careful hours finding out how to remove the trim.
A well worth while exercise in my case.

Paper curl

When a paper jam occurs, the printer will stop printing and the Continue (1) and Paper Jam (2) lights on the operator panel will come on. See the illustration below.
pattlnk_1052005_1635-enus20238_oppaneljamlights_e230_en_us.gif When you experience a paper jam, it is recommended that you check and clear the entire paper path. To clear a paper jam, do the following:
  1. If you are feeding paper from a paper tray, first remove the tray. Look for and remove any jammed or damaged paper you find.

    pattlnk_1052005_1636-enus20238_removepaperjam_e230_en_us.gif
  2. Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.

    IMPORTANT!
Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light, especially sunlight, for an extended period of time. Extended exposure to light will damage the green photoconductor roller and cause print quality problems.

    pattlnk_1052005_1639-enus20238_removecartridge_e230_en_us.gif
  3. Remove any paper you find jammed in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.

    pattlnk_1052005_1645-enus20238_removepaperjam2_e230_en_us.gif
  4. Also lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any paper you find jammed beneath the flap.

    pattlnk_1052005_1646-enus20238_removepaperjam3_e230_en_us.gif
  5. Open the rear exit door/cover of the printer and remove any jammed paper you find there.

    pattlnk_1052005_1647-enus20238_removepaperjamrear_e230_en_us.gif
  6. Once you have confirmed that the entire paper path is clear, reinstall the print cartridge assembly. Close all the printer covers/doors. Reinstall any paper trays you removed.
  7. Press the Continue button to resume printing. NOTE: The printer should reprint the page(s) that caused the paper jam.
  8. If the paper continues to jam, press the Continue button twice quickly while the Continue and Paper Jam lights are on. This will cause the operator panel to display the secondary error paper jam light sequence. The secondary error code will tell you where the printer thinks the problem has arisen. For more information, see the 'Secondary Error Codes' section on page 69 of the User's Guide.
