It means `at` - ie. Location ....as in email address: [email protected], meet me @ 3:00 etc.

go to google.com and click on the email link then type in your email address and password.

Gmail.com should still work, that will take you to a login page and then to your email.
possibly try mail.Google.com which should take you to the same place.
If you still can't access your email then there must be another issue on your end.
Is there anything else you you've changed recently?

when you signed up to gmail, you used an alternate email address in case you forgot your user name or password. go to gmail and enter your alternarte email address and they will send you a link to rest the password.

googlemail.com addresses are the same as gmail.com addresses. Try [email protected].

I don't know what you mean by saying "its not recognised on my computer", but perhaps this will help.

I'm a little confused. Do you mean your Mail program that comes with your OS is not working? and you've changed your email address with Gmail?

If this is the case, you need to change the email address in "preferences." Open your mail program, click "Mail" in the top bar, then select "Preferences" in the menu. A box will pop up. Change the email address in accounts. You'll need to type the entire address ([email protected]) If your password has changed, change that too. Make sure the incoming (pop.gmail.com) and outgoing servers (smtp.gmail.com) are set for Gmail. If this is not your problem, please clarify.
