Good Afternoon friend, thank you for your post!

I see that your Frigidaire freezer is making noise and you have recently defrosted it, but your freezer is still making the noise. Your freezer will make certain noises which are normal operating noises for the freezer.

The compressor is a high efficiency so you may hear it during start up and while running. Additionally, refrigerant circulating through your freezer can make a tapping sound or even a gurgling noise. I hope this has been helpful. -Matt

constant clicking, sounds like a compreesor trying to start itself, you might geta way with replaving hte starting device for compressor, sometime s a bad compressor will burn out a starting device, checl your warr papers, most compressors had afull 5 year warr

SOURCE: My freezer's defrost systems runs constantly

i dont think so i would look at the compressor kicking out on thermal overload or a faulty thermostat thermostats have two settings cut in cut out your cut in could be bad and not turning the compressor on till the temp reaches melting temps now if your hearing a click buzz then you need to look at the compressor and make sure the compressor fan is running but its not a defrost promblem

SOURCE: i do not have a manual so I don't know how to defrost it

Look for a white plastic plug in the floor of the freezer, about the size of a quarter. Remove that. Take the front grill off and feel underneath for a plastic hose (one end connects to the drain hole, the other end you can catch defrost water in using a shallow pan). Use a hair dryer to melt the frost (with the freezer unpluged)

SOURCE: I have a 4yr old 13.7 cubic upright frigidare

Hi, Put a thermometer in the freezer and see if it gets down to 0 to 5 above zero. If it is not getting that cold, something is wrong. If you had frost building up behind the rear panel, there is a defrost problem.
Please let me know the temperature and I can assist you further.

SOURCE: 13.7 auto defrost upright freezer, runs all the time.

nop its not normal but it will make no further problums if u turn it Off manually after 6hours running (for 30mins), and if u wanna completely solve that prob contact the warranty provider and change the Thermostate.
but i suggest if the friedge have expire to his warranty, dont take any tension it will work properly through this condition (if u manually OFF and ON it regularly).
take care.
for further assistance....

I have a 20 cf upright GE freezer that isn't

it may be froze up, and require a defrosting. use a portable fan to speed up this process , also make sure the fan in the freezer compartment is working, with a little work and a zoom spout oiler, or some light motor oil, the motor can be sparked back to life.. freeze ups are common with the high humidity we are having these days.. jay the pool pump motor repair guy longwood Florida

My refrigerator's inner fan was making weird noises. After some time I poked it and then it stopped moving. The fan is now unable to turn. What should I do?

Two things could be wrong. Motor bad or frozen up with ice.The noise could have been
from frost building up and hitting the fan.If this is the case you need to defrost. Even self
defrost models do this some times..Empty freezer and run a hair blower (dryer) to put heat
in the compartment. this could take a while to do. over night...So run blower for a while to heat up the freezer then shut it off, close door .let sit It takes time for the heat to get to the ice.

if the motor is bad you will have to take inside cover off the access the motor

Freezer makes intermittent fan noise

one time i ran into this problem and found out the lady was putting hot things in the freezer creating alot of moisture. check your door seal also make sure its sealing if it had gaps you can heat it up with a hairdryer to streach it out.

"High wind" sound following defrost.

Freon running through the feon lines can make some odd noises, usually a gurgling or higher pitched noise. If your freezer works fine with no more strange noises, then don't worry about it. If you have temperature problems or continue to have abnormal noises, then see if your freezer has the 5 year sealed system warrantee that most freezers have. If it does, and it is under 5 years, then call Frigidaire to come out to check it out for free. If it is out of warrantee you will need to live with it or replace the freezer, since a freon sealed system repair is very high. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Upright freeze made a popping noise like a thermostat

If you heard the noise at a fairly routine rate and time it was probably the defrost timer motor. Locate it and you should be able to engage it manually. It is a plug and go part to replace. Be sure to take the old one along with the make n model # with you to the parts house!!

Upright freezer not cold enough

IF THE FREEZER IS AUTO DEFROST, DO YOU SEE A FROST BUILDUP ON THE BACK WALL? IF SO, YOU NEED TO DIAGNOSE THE DEFROST FAILURE. THERE ARE THREE ITEMS TO THE DEFROST CIRCUIT. THE TIMER, HEATER, AND BI-METAL. FIND THE TIMER, USUALLY ON THE BACK OF THE FREEZER DOWN IN THE CORNER NEAR THE COMPRESSOR. IT WILL HAVE A CONNECTOR WITH FOUR WIRES ATTACHED TO IT. IT HAS A KNOB THAT CAN BE TURNED TO PUT IT INTO A DEFROST CYCLE. WITH THE FREEZER RUNNING, START TURNING THE KNOB UNTIL THE COMPRESSOR STOPS. THAT WILL BE THE DEFROST CYCLE. THEN WAIT 5 MINUTES AND LISTEN IN THE FREEZER FOR A SIZZLING NOISE AND LOOK FOR A GLOWING FROM THE BACK BOTTOM. IF THE HEATER IS ON, THE TIMER IS THE PROBLEM. IF THE HEATER IS NOT ON, THE HEATER OR BI-METAL IS AT FAULT.
IF THE FREEZER IS NOT AUTO DEFROSTING, CHECK TO SEE IF THE COMPRESSOR IS RUNNING. IF IT IS, ARE THE SHELVES ALL FROSTED? IF NOT, YOU HAVE A SYSTEM FAILURE. IT COULD BE A LEAK, RESTRICTION, OR FAILED COMPRESSOR.
