I am very disappointed with my dishwasher. I have tried everything to ensure my dishes come out clean but this never happens. I have started washing them before I load up machine and I have cleaned out the spray arms regularly. After every second wash I have to put softener and salt. If this was my first dishwasher I certainly would never invest in another. Disappointed customer

SOURCE: dishwasher

Most dishwashers have a little filter basket in the bottom. Depending on the brand, you can slide out the bottom rack, and in the bottom underneath the sprayer (the propeller thing) there should be some sort of basket that can be removed and cleaned. You also may have some water quality issues, or some detergents will leave residue. Also, make sure most of the large food is removed before loading.

SOURCE: My dishwasher does not fill with enough water to

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with check the water inlet valve which is located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side of the Dishwasher. If the water inlet valve is bad you have to replace it, also check the main water line for clogs/obstructions. If still the issue is not resolved then it's a bad float switch and needs to be replaced. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

SOURCE: There are no error codes

Lower washer not working but upper washer is. This is due to the dishwasher thinking it is on half load. the sensor is faulty and you need to replace the whole unit (water circulation pump). However if like me and your not bothered about having a half load and always use both trays on your dishwasher you can fix it. remove the dishwasher unscrew the side panels and remove, unscrew the bottom panel. Tilt it on its back and then unscrew the feet and remove the bottom panel. There you will see the water circulation pump. On the top is a sensor with 2 white and 1 orange wires going to it, unscrew the sensor and underneath remove the white plastic valve/flap and its supports. with the valve/flap removed replace the sensor and build it back up. Now the water will flow through both cambers (upper and lower).

Dishes not coming out clean

Hello

There are some things you can try, however, if your Maytag dishwasher is not getting your dishes as clean as you would like. Maytag recommends several processes for fixing this issue with your dishwasher.

Do not run your Maytag dishwasher while hot water is being used in other parts of your home, such as washing clothes or showering. Hot water is needed for your Maytag dishwasher to properly clean dishes.

Run water in the sink in your kitchen until it gets very hot. Then, turn on your Maytag dishwasher. This will ensure that the water cleaning your dishes is the hottest possible temperature.

Clean your Maytag dishwasher to improve the cleaning results for dishes. Run your dishwasher on a short wash cycle and wait for it to fill up with water. Stop the cycle and add about 1/3 of a cup of rust remover to the dishwasher and finish the cycle. Run your Maytag dishwasher through one normal cycle with regular detergent to finish the cleaning process.

Check your detergent. Old detergent or those that have been exposed to moisture can be clumpy. This detergent will not clean your dishes as well when loaded into your Maytag dishwasher. Purchase fresh detergent.

Use extra detergent when washing dishes that have a lot of built-up grease or food particles. The extra amount of detergent is needed to get your dishes clean. Choose a long cleaning cycle to clean these dishes.

Fill your Maytag dishwasher properly. Dishes should not be stacked on top of each other or excessively crammed into your dishwasher. This will keep the dishwasher from adequately cleaning all areas of your dishes and from rinsing them thoroughly.

Please help! I just moved into a new house where the Frigidaire dishwasher worked great for 2 weeks. Now, it's leaving hard salt-like granules all over my dishes and not rinsing all the food off. ...

Your dishwasher has clogged water ports.
Start the dishwasher with NO dishes in it.
Once it starts the wash cycle, open the door and pour in 1 quart of WHITE vinegar and resume the wash cycle.
That should clear out the residue.
Change your dishwasher soap to the FINISH brand name for happy clean dishes.

Cloudy glasses, less than 2 years old, using the same soap , we don't know what happened?

First perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest setting possible and perform a wash cycle. Then start using a dishwasher most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the problem.

There are many probable causes of failure .

To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water temperature.

Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter

If you are in an hard water zone , then try reducing the amount of detergent used and then try cleaning the dishes.

Dishwasher leaving a white film on dishes after wash/dry cycle

Well, that usually happens if the water in the area has too much alkali metals, such as calcium and magnesium.
Try putting some salt together with the detergent before you start the cycle.
And if it still does, try washing the finished dishes again with clean water, i mean, without detergent...

GE Profile PDW9200J dishwasher leaves a film and dirty dishes

Sounds like you have an excessive build up of hard water (mainly calcium) in it. Clean it like this: Close the detergent cup cover. Run hot water at the sink to clear cold out of the pipes. Start the machine on pots and pans/added heat. Wait about 10 minutes and open the door. If the detergent cup cover flops open, it is in the main wash. If it is still closed, let it run a few more minutes, check cup cover again, keep dong this until the cover is open. Once it is open it will be in the main wash (the longest cycle) and at that time put in about 2 cupfulls of Tang orange drink in the bottom of the tub. Tang is very high in citric acid and will clean the calcium and other hard water deposits from the tub, pump, spray arms, ect... Make sure your hot water is HOT (130 is great) and use Cascade Complete powdered detergent from now on. Should take care of it... Repeat every 6 months to keep it clean.

Top rack dishes are not clean

My Whirlpool dishwasher is only 2 years old and I started having the same problems. I dismantled everything I could and washed and scrubbed the entire unit with EVERYTHING..to no avail, dirty dishes!! But I discovered a remedy! Try using Lemi-Shine for about a week with your regular wash-soap. If you are using the tablet form of soap, stop and try the powdered form. Follow the instructions on the Lemi-Shine container. You can find it just about anywhere for around $3.50. I was within "5 seconds" of replacing my 2 year old Whirlpool dishwasher when this caught my eye and I figured why not try it too? After the first wash I noticed a big difference the cleanliness of the dishes..and now it is running GREAT after 2 weeks!
