SOURCE: how do i use my new sandisk cruzer?

insert the flash drive into your computer and wait for it to be recognised by windows. Once it has been recognised and installed it will tell you that it is installed and ready to use.

The just go to wherever it is on your computer that you have your photos stored, select your photos right click and click on copy, then go to 'my comptuer' and double click on your flash drive to open it and paste your picture there.

Or select your photos, right click, select sent to:- and send to your flash drive, it may be recognised as removable storage.

Did you reformat as NTFS instead of the default FAT32? FAT32 can only transfer files up to 4.0Gb in size. If you reformat as NTFS, you can move larger files.

SOURCE: unable to format my SanDisk Cruzer Micro 8GB USB

  1. 1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  2. 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  3. 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  4. 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  5. 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  6. 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Want to copy a TV programme I have on DVD to an 8GB Sandisk backup stick

Hi,
Explore the DVD and just copy the files with VOB extension to USB Stick. These are the Video Files and can be played on any PC. You may also use Any DVD Ripper Software to extract the video from DVD and convert it to any other format such as avi.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Hello, I have Sandisk Cruzer blade 4 gb pendrive. But now it shows I/O error while copying data to it. please give a solution.

Copy all the files from it to your 'C:' drive, and burn the files to one DVD-recordable disk.
Then, responsibly recycle the SanDisk, and spend $10 to buy a new flash-drive.
Copy the files from the 'C:' drive, or the DVD disk onto the new flash-drive.
Keep multiple copies of your files, just in case this "new" flash-drive also "fails".

I have a SanDisk Cruzer USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I need to transfer my data from my old windows98 computer to a new Windows7 computer. However, My Windows98 computer does not recognize my SanDisk Cruzer USB...

Take a router (wired or wireless), and use Ethernet cables to connect the two computers to the router.
Configure the old computer into the same "workgroup" as the new computer (and restart it).
Right-mouse-click on the folder containing the files to be transferred.
Click to enable "sharing" of that folder.
On the new computer, browse the "Network Neighbourhood".
It may take a few minutes for the new computer to "find" the old computer (working through the router).
Access the folder that you "shared".
Copy the files, over your private network, to the new computer.

I have a .pst file that is 5 GB which I am trying to copy to a sandisk flash drive cruzer 8 GB. I keep on getting an error message stating the the file is to big for the destination file system. What...

Two possibilities:

1. you already have more than 3GB of files on the SANDISK.
So, delete some files, or "burn" them to a CD/DVD disk,
so that you have at least 5 GB of "free" space available.

2. the "file-system" (the way that the "table-of-contents" is laid-out on the SANDISK) limits the size of a single file to 2GB.
The "file-system" on your 'C:' drive does *NOT* have that identical limitation (it does have a "maximum-file-size", but it is MUCH larger).

Open Outlook, and "compress" all the folders.
Perhaps, the PST file will shrink to less than 4.7 GB.
If it does, then you can "burn" that file onto one DVD-writable disk.

Flash drive has a DVD ghost

It is "working as designed" for a 'U3' device.

A 'U3' device is _more_ than just an "ordinary" flash-drive.

You can install software onto a 'U3' device, i.e., a copy of Microsoft Office, and then you can take your data files _and_ your copy of the software _with_ you, and connect to any computer, and access your software and your files.

I just purchased an 8GB USB 2.0 flash drive from SanDisk Cruzer. I plugged it in, it recognized it then opened to documents what do i do next?

You use it like a floppy disk, you can copy files to and from your computer to the flash drive, then take the flash drive out and the put into another computer to share, ie. to download and copy files to from other computers such as a friend's computer. The files can be anything, music, photos etc.

10 to 20 percent music files-(message)"unable to copy file or directory"

go to your folder with the files you want to share, open the folder select all of the music files copy them. Open up your brothers flash drive then paste them onto it.

If you have made a shortcut to these files on your desktop then copying them it maybe trying to copy the shortcuts and it won't work.

Another thing to check is that the music files are in the right format for the flash drive.
