How can I get sound out of my kenwood stereo system?

I just bought a used Kenwood XD-A8 mini hifi component system and I have not been able to get any sound out of it since getting it hooked up. The previous owner assures me that it works.

Kenwood A722L no sound and volume led blinking

This could be due to a faulty speaker relay (if your unit uses one). Normally, the unit will "wait" a couple of seconds after you turn the unit on. Then you will hear a "click" and the sound will begin coming through the speakers. If the relay is faulty, it would cause the problem you describe.

Kenwood stereo synthesizer tuner t-85l

T-85L is a component of a hifi system not suposed to work alone. You have to connect it to another Kenwood component (an amplifier like the A85 ) through a special cable to power it on/off. The special cable can be used point to point or as daisy-chained.
