How do I Adjust brakes

Replace the whole cable.It would stretch in front & the rear the same amounts.

You may need to adjust the cable for your hand brake. The driver's side is too tight and the passenger side is too loose. Best thing to do is drop the hand brake (e-brake) down, loosen the adjuster on the drum, then lift the hand brake until you hear 5 clicks. Then adjust the handbrake cable on both sides until the disk just stops.

Hi:) Make sure the brake shoes are on the wright side the short shoe goes on the front part of the backing plate and make sure the emergency brakes are loose enough. They are what adjust the brakes (pulling and releasing the brakes adjust the brake slack while backing up) so check the springs and cable for proper installation.

beefore you actually replace the cable, check both ends and just make sure that the outer cable is not loose and that the fittings on the end of the inner cable are not loose where they fit.
when you adjust the cable (existing or replacement) make sure the gearbox is actually in park.

If this is the first time you have had this problem and have less than 50,000 miles on the brake pads then it is most likely the cable and there are a couple of places to adjust in most cases. If you have 50,000 or more miles on those read pads you may need to replace the rear brake pads. The manual will help you in doing this repair correctly.

you mean parking brake cable? loosen parking brake cables put drums on , and adjust shoes till they lightly drag, now apply brakes a few times and check the adjustment again, if all ok, now adjust park brake cables, you want to adjust so park pedal goes 5-8 clicks till the wheels are "locked up" and the wheels spin free with the park brake off

If the car has a center console between the seats, and the e-brake lever is there, remove the console there should be a bolt to tighten or loosen. Loosen it with the lever DOWN, pull the cable as tight as it will go with your hand and a pair of pliers. Holding the cable in place tighten the bolt or nut that secures the cable. If this doesn't fix it, have your rear brakes inspected and/or adjusted.

there is no adjustment when you pump pedal the pressure comes automatic.the only adjustment is e-brake.
