-340 trouble download pictures to computer

I plugged the camer into the computer. at first the cameria did nothing (PC light nor any other lights came on and the "safe to remove ico came on and I removed the cameria. Not downloading photos to ameria

Sounds like your software no longer recognizes the device is plugged in. I would open the software program that you are using with the camera plugged in and try to find the upload/connect to camera command. You should be able to start the download from there. Hope this helps!

Make sure the camera is on and pc is selected on the camera screen when connected to the computer. You will need to have PC highlighted and select ok on the camera as this starts the camera and computer to communicate. Once communication established the LCD screen of the camera goes dark and the computer should generate a removable disk drive. Check the System Tray (lower right corner beside the PC time) for Safely Remove Hardware. When you click on it, it should read "Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device Drive ?:" If you dont see that, then check the Device Manager to see if the camera is recognized as USB Mass Storage Device. The camera uses the driver usbstor.
