Canon MPC600f cannot install

Hi, Im trying to install 2 printers on my PC.
Running XP SP2, printers are both Canons, MPC600f (multifunction centre) & a LBP5000 color laser.
I've successfully installed the LBP5000 but when I attach the MPC600f it can't find it.
I've connected both by USB2.0 and I've lost the install software for the MPC600f, but downloaded the drivers from web.
Problem is it doesn't see the MPC600f when I plug it in.
looking for step by step instructions.

    how do you instal from the downloaded file? i cant get it to work either

    have exactly the same problem, cannot install it neither with usb nor with lpt. system does not see anything: the printer, the fax and the scanner. did you already solve the problem ?

    I downloaded updated software (including driver) for the Canon MP80 (an older multipass which is still working great) and removed the previous installation prior to update. Now, the software won't install (even the forced installation), plug and play doesn't recognize the printer at all, and, if I try to install the printer manually with the Windows "install printer," the MP80 isn't even on the drop-down list of printers manufactured by Canon. The printer is working fine, except that now it is no longer connected to the computer. This is a convenient way to force me to buy a new printer even though there is nothing wrong with this one.

    Similar problem with Canon MultiPass F50. Downloaded the driver and patch for the XP; using USB port. Message--cannot find printer. Also, after installation, message says installation is incomplete. Have repeated process a number of times, following Canon instructions.

Xp sp2 changes a file in windows that is needed by the canon driver. there is a patch available to fix this. I haven't tried it yet as the printer belongs to a friend. Patch and latest driver available from page below.

I have a Pixma MG6150 Multifunction device. PC is sadly running Vista SP2. Trying to set it up wirelessly. Software installed perfectly on a Windows 7 pc but on this laptop it returns an error message...
Try this,
1) Go to Start/Settings/Printers and Faxes
2) Right click the "Pixma MG6150 Printer" and choose property
3) Go to the Ports page (From the top menu), and assigned to port FILE: it should be assigned to a Canon Pixma MG6150 Network port
4) Click button, and select "Canon Pixma MG6150" type, and then new port
5) The "Canon Pixma MG6150" printer will be associated with this new port, automatically
6) Click OK

How can i install a canon ip 1900 in windows 98?
Try going to the Canon website and download your software. ( http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010647.asp )

Uninstall any software that you may already have install for the Canon by going to ' add & remove programs ', uninstall your canon printer by going to ' printers & faxes, disconnect your Canon printer from your computer.

Reboot your computer.

Install the Canon printer software that you downloaded.

Hook up your Canon printer to your computer.

The software should install automatically. If not, re-install the software you downloaded.

Canon MPC600f cannot install
Uninstall the drivers.

Unplug the printer.

Restart the computer

Reinstall drivers (make sure to overwrite old files if prompted)

Perhaps restart computer again?

Finally (only then) do you want to plug the printer in. It should find it.

If that doesn't work, you may want to monkey with your USB2 drivers...not sure why, but they cause a lot of problems.

Canon Printer Smart Base MPC600F driver for Vista
Click to Access canon site
Choose Europe/...
Choose UK
Choose Support
Choose Software Download in the left column
Beside MultiFunctionals Choose SmartBase MPC600F

Choose OS and Language to limit list and Click Submit

Unfortunately there appears to be no Vista Driver available from Canon. IF and is said IF it does eventually become available this would be how to find it.

This page offers information as to vista compatibility but I saw no news about pending drivers for inkjet multifunctional devices. There were some projections for laser multifunctional devices.

the USB cable you are using may be of poor qualit. Try a USB2 compatible cable that is thicker.
