SOURCE: Hi I have a Toshiba laptop model no.psl2xu-ookoof

If the laptop works only off the Power Cord and the battery is not charging, then the battery is dead.

To check to make sure the Power Cord is working remove the battery and let the latop run for 10 minutes or so.

To check to see if the battery has any charge left in it put the battery in and remove the power cord. If it won't boot or shuts down then the battery is dead and needs to be replaced if the power cord is ok.

How to add ram

open the panned which is located on the base of the laptop and just buy a ram use the model number listed in the catalog or you also check from toshiba website using the model number of your laptop.
there will be two slots in the laptop one which will have a RAM on it and the you will see the other slot which is empty so you just need to insert the RAM like the way previous ram is attached on it. and thats it you can turn on your lappy and u r good to go

How can I increase memory of toshiba Satellite A105

A RAM expansion slot is located on the bottom of the laptop behind a small panel. Remove the panel to get access to the RAM slot/s. It may have two RAM slots, if it has only one the the 1st RAM slot will most likely be located under the keyboard.
If the laptop has two RAM slots on the bottom of the laptop and the 2nd one is empty then you can add anothe RAM module. Try to get the same make and model as the original to double your RAM..
If both slots are occupied then you need to replace the existing RAM with larger capacity RAM modules.

  • Hi, hope this will help you with your problem. There are steps to 'change' the visual effects of the "Display." 1. Right click on "Desktop,” click Personalize, click, Display Settings. 2. Identify, Monitor used? 3. Down (arrow) select Monitors graphics. 4. Adjust, (low>high) resolution. 5. Select, Colors (16 bit>32bit), etc. 6. Select, Advanced Settings, click Properties ("check device status"). 7. Update Drivers (only if, necessary?) 8. Click on "List All Modes" select valid (modes) for the monitor. Note: Always click on the 'Apply', and 'OK' buttons after application changes for the process to take effect. 9. "Restart "Computer." *Next go, to: Screen Saver, in the Screen Saver Settings change 'Power' settings. *Next go, to: Start Menu, click on Product Name: (Toshiba), click 'Utilities' click, Toshiba Assist, click 'Optimize' click, "Display"; change power on display. *Next go, to Control Panel, in Mobile PC, click; "Adjust commonly used mobility settings" (changes the following); Display brightness, and Connect Display. “Did this solution help?”

This is from the Toshiba website. This is the only place you need be concerned about. It says max of 2GB, so unless you swapped out your motherboard, you are stuck with 2GB.
