I got my new Razr V3 7 hours ago, and it has been charging this entire time. So far I have not been able to turn it on. Is this an issue or is it common for it not to turn on until after 8 hours?
I am turning it on by holding the red power button.
In addition, the display has been totally dark the entire time, not indicating charging at all. Is this normal?
Well, i got it from Wirefly, but i just wanted to make sure it was an equipment error not an operator error before I did so.Well, i got it from Wirefly, but i just wanted to make sure it was an equipment error not an operator error before I did so.

I have noticed that the mini plug for the charger and usb connection on RAZR V3 is sometimes sloppy. when the phone is charging it will definitely say battery charging on the external display and also flash the battery icon. i also noticed that the plug for the wall outlet is touchy. make sure the plug is secure in the wall outlet make sure the mini plug is secure in the phone gently wiggle these connections if you have to till you get the battery charging message if there are any connection problems there will be a unable to charge message instead.

Phone is wet, or has damaged battery or charging port, the phone should be dried and the same for the battery before any further testing is done, leave the battery out of the phone until your done. Test the phone by charging the battery once the entire unit has been dried for several hours with gentle warm dry air flowing over and around the unit, keep the cover off, battery out and make sure it doesn't get too hot to touch, if it does it can damage it, also don't plug anything into it until its fully dried. Cheers!
If theres no problem with your phone charging on its original battery before you replace it. the problem lies with the new battery you purchase, just replace it, coz some batteries are due to factory defects.
It is possible that your battery was overcharged. Maybe your battery broke up. Try to buy a new battery it might work. Also it is possible that you phone is grounded.
it wont harm your phone they just recomend 24 hours to make sure the bat is ok and that it gets fully charged but remember to let your bat go totally flat from time to time this will prolong the life of your battery as it does them no good just keep topping it up so i sugest to let it go totally flat say once a month this will keep your battery lasting longer between charge hope this helps
I had this problem too. Unfortuneately it happens often with that phone as i have been told. Mine got fixed about 10 months ago because it was under warranty and now it has happened again out of warranty and i have to pay for it to get fixed. Why should i when its going to keep happening every few months? It has nothing to do with the battery or the charger. The only way that it can be fixed is to take it to the manufacturer.
