Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.
If ever resetting is no effect then the problem is in the "DM board"

Hope it may help you;

Regards;

The tv doesn't react when pressing the power button. What can I do to fix this?

Things You'll Need:
  • Batteries
    • 1 Press the "TV" button and then press the "Power" button on the remote. If the TV turns on, your remote was just switched off of TV mode.
    • 2 Reprogram your remote to your TV. Universal remote controls can be accidentally unprogrammed by sitting on the wrong combination of buttons or having the batteries disconnect from the inner connections.
    • 3 Unplug the TV from the electrical outlet for a few minutes and plug it back in. This will reset the TV in case a power surge caused the TV to become "confused."
    • 4 Replace the batteries with new ones. Do not use old batteries from a different device in your house because if the batteries do not work, you won't be able to determine anything because those batteries may not have enough juice to power the remote. Keep in mind that different devices have different needs, so the batteries may have had enough power for something else to work but not enough for your remote.
    • 5 Check the batteries to see if they are inserted in the right direction. It's possible that someone dropped the remote, the batteries fell out and then were inserted incorrectly.
    • 6 Press the "Power" button on the TV set to determine that the TV is not dead. A dead TV will not turn on from a remote.
    • 7 Program the remote to another TV. If the second TV works from the remote, the problem is with your TV's remote signal receiver

Universal remote px-rc1

Hi! This worked for me! I'm Leyz/leheart from the Philippines. I'm typing in CDRKing or CD-R King or CDR King Universal Remote Control PX-RC1 so that these keywords will show up if someone's looking for it too.
Mcneileric is right!
Real TV should be on! On the remote, press and hold the SET and DEVICE TYPE (in my case TV) at the same time. (Note: SET button is not any other button but the one with the word SET on it. You might have been searching on youtube and found that they are pressing other SET buttons but do press the SET button with the SET word). Then press SET again. Press the POWER button then + CHANNEL button then POWER button then +CHANNEL button then POWER button then +CHANNEL. (This process is so the remote could look for the code while you are pressing the +CHANNEL and the POWER is to see if the tv will turn off/respond to the remote). Do this repeatedly until the time that when you press the POWER button, the real TV turns off which means the real TV now responds. You will be shocked so DON'T press the +CHANNEL button anymore as this will instruct the device to look for another code. Instead, press the DEVICE TYPE button (TV for my case) to finish the set up.
NOW YOU CAN USE the REMOTE! Press the POWER button and this will turn on the TV!
Again...
TV onPress and hold SET button (yes, the button with the word SET) and DEVICE type button (TV/VCR,etc) at the same time for about 3 secondsPress SET againPress Power to check if the TV turns off^^If nothing happens, press +CHANNEL to search for codePress Power again to check if TV turns off^^If nothing happens, repeat the step between ^^ and ^^If the TV now turns off after pressing the POWER button, press the DEVICE type button to finish the setup.
Mcneileric, THANK YOU!!!!

Aquos LC37D40U Blinking light and won't turn on

The power light is an error code that tells me exactly what is wrong with the TV. Count how many times the POWER led flashes per second? (Dont worry about the OPC led)

1x per second (constant steady blink) = bad inverters/lamps
2x per second = bad power supply
3x per second = bad main board

If its 1x per second, try doing the factory initialization to get the TV back on to confirm a bad lamp/inverter.

Try doing the Factory Initialization (WARNING: THIS GIVES YOU ACCESS TO THE SERVICE MENU. DO NOT ADJUST ANYTHING IN THE SERVICE MENU OTHER THAN WHAT I PROVIDE YOU IN THESE INSTRUCTIONS. IF YOU DECIDED TO ADJUST ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT I PROVIDE YOU IN THESE INSTRUCTIONS, I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING WRONG HAPPENS TO YOUR TV.)

  1. unplug tv
  2. press and hold at the same time “Vol –“ and “input” button on the TV set.
  3. while holding those buttons, plug the tv back in
  4. the tv should turn on by itself, keep holding the buttons until the letter “K” appears. Then let go.
Once the TV turns on, take a look at the screen. Does it flicker then shut off? Or do you hear a buzzing noise from the right edge of the TV? If so, then you have bad inverters or lamps. Once youre done, unplug the tv to get it out of the service menu.

If it is 2x per second or 3x per second, then those boards are just bad and they need to be replaced. There isnt anything you can do right now to fix it.

V. chip

According to the Samsung website, this is the method to reset the Vchip PIN.

1. Turn TV on.
2. Press power button on the remote, TV will turn off.
3. Press Mute on the remote.
4. Using the remote, press the buttons 8, then 2, then 4
5. Press the power button, TV should turn on.

At this point the PIN should be reset to four zeros.

If that doesn't work, you could have someone mess with the internal circuits as someone else posted, but I wouldn't recommend trying it yourself.

Or you could call the Samsung tech support hotline at 1-800-726-7864. Never tried it so I don't know how good their customer support is.
