SOURCE: paper doesn't advance through the printer

Hi, Sounds very much like the feed rollers are worn out. If you can get to them without too much trouble you can clean them up with regular rubbing alcohol and a rag which will help the paper feed. You might also want to try unpluging the printer and trying to roll the paper feed buttons by hand and seeing if a piece of paper will feed through without catching anywhere. If it does catch somewhere, then you may very well have a small piece of paper jammed in the paper path causing the jam. Good luck.

SOURCE: Lexmark X5470 printer says, "Clear paper jam, then press check mark."

  1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
  2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
  3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
  4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
  5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
  6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
  7. Turn the printer off.
  8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
  9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

SOURCE: printer pulling on paper

My husband took the top cover off the printer and took a good look inside with a flashlight. He found a hot pink crayon stuck where the paper feeds through. I guess I should have had a better look initially, since the paper never made it all the way through the printer. Works like a charm now!!

I have a HP PSC 1350 and it is giving me a paper jam message, but there is no paper jam. It won't let me print anything now. What can I do to fix this. I've tried turning it on and off but that doesn't...

First off all, turn OFF printer, disconnect it from computer, restart computer, connect printer and turn it ON, please try to print now, even if it does not print,. you need to reinstall printer driver, for that-
1. Disconnect printer, insert printer installation disk in drive, uninstall the printer first and then install the printer.
2. If you don not have the printer installation disk then please visit- http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=306888&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us, select the operating system and download the full printer driver and save it on desktop.
3. Disconnect the printer and install it from the downloaded driver, follow the instruction mentioned in installation process and try to print once the installaton is complete.

Hope, this would fix the issue.

Canon MP830 will not print Error code 5C10, And 5100 [email protected]

5C10 seems to indicate a paper jam. 5100 indicates either a paper jam or ink tanks not seated properly.

A) Paper jam: There is a rear cover on this model. Many paper jams cannot be seen from the outside. Sometimes even a scrap of paper from a previous jam will disrupt the paper path.

B) Follow your manual for installation of the ink tanks. Remove and replace the ink tanks carefully following the instructions.

C) Should these remedies not fix the problem, you can try resetting the device:

1) Press and hold the <On/Off> button until the display on the machine goes blank. (If this is unsuccessful, unplug the power cord).

2) Wait approx. 10 seconds and power back on. Wait until the printer completes its startup routine before trying another print job.

3) If solution fails, your MP 830 may require repair

Won't print

Sounds like a piece of paper is stuck inside the machine. Open all access doors and check. Remove the printer cartridge and reinsert. Make sure the print job has been purged from the queue.
