Hi, Chk you settings for a tap delay. If set on high the taps will take longer to respond. Low setting will produce immediate respnse. You may not have the option but looking for a setting would be advantages. Good Luck -Ned-

You did not say what version of windows is on the computer but you need to boot to safe mode with networking and then go to www.malwarebytes.org and download and run the free version. This will take care of any malware that you have.

SOURCE: Aspire L310 Desktop: can acer aspire L310 desktop work with win xp and ...

Yes. I am currently updating an Acer Aspire L310 (lunchbox format) desktop.

Many of the drivers are contained on the XP installation disk and will automatically be installed when you install XP.

Other Drivers:

Assuming your L310 has the same hardware (may not), you can use the following Hardware detail to locate the drivers by typing in the hardware model into a search engine like Bing.

NIC - Marvell Yukon 88e8056 PCI-e GB; this driver can be downloaded from www.cnet.com. On this website, just type in the model info and it will direct you to the driver download.

Wireless NIC - Broadcom 802.11g; download from www.cnet.com

Display/motherboard chipset - Once you have installed XP and the NIC driver, go to www.intel.com and click on the "downloads/support" option. The website provides an autodetect utility that will identify your hardware and provide updated drivers.

Audio - go to Realtek website and select "downloads". Download/install the high definition audio driver for XP.

Once you are up and running with XP, run the Microsoft Windows Update utility and it will find updates for many of the essential drivers.

...hope this info helps

SOURCE: how do you access the memory slots on an acer aspire z3731

Memory Sockets or Slots are the place where memory RAM modules are inserted in the motherboard. The Acer Aspire Z3731 has 4 (4 banks of 1) memory expansion slots. A memory bank is a group of memory expansion sockets, a bank must be completely filled with memory modules of the same size and type in order for the system to recognize and address the memory. i.e. :
2 sockets (2 banks of 1) This indicates that there are 2 memory slots. These are divided into 2 banks, and each bank consists of one memory slot. So you can add memory one piece at a time for the system to use.
3 sockets (3 banks of 1) This indicates that there are 3 memory slots. These are divided into 3 banks, and each bank consists of one memory slot. So you can add memory one piece at a time for the system to use.
4 sockets (2 banks of 2) This indicates that there are 4 memory slots. These are divided into 2 banks, and each bank consists of two memory slots. So you must add memory two pieces at a time (they must be the same size and type of memory) in order for the system to benefit from the upgrade.
8 sockets (4 banks of 2) This indicates that there are 8 memory slots. These are divided into 4 banks, and each bank consists of two memory slots. So you must add memory two pieces at a time (they must be the same size and type of memory) in order for the system to benefit from the upgrade.
12 sockets (3 banks of 4) This indicates that there are 12 memory slots. These are divided into 3 banks, and each bank consists of four memory slots. So you must add memory four pieces at a time (and they must be the same size and type of memory) in order for the system to benefit from the upgrade.

Acer Aspire Z3731-Ur21p all in in one touch screen desk top Lagging badly. What could the problem be?

Many possibilities. Over time, the hard drive gets fragmented and needs to be de-fragmented to perform better. WIN 7 does this automatically on a periodic basis, but if you have WIN XP, you need to do it manually. Also, you may have too many processes running. Many of the convenient add-ons that we let the system install also install other, not-so-necessary things like toolbars or search engines that we do not want or need. You must be careful when doing these updates because they slip these little gems in very discreetly on you. The more processes you have running, the less memory you have for the things you want to do. These processes also share processor time and thus slow response. Look at the "Programs & Features" window (WIN 7) or the Add/Remove Programs" window (WIN XP). Chances are you'll see some things there that you don't want or need. Take the time to remove them and you may see some improvement. Sometimes spyware or viruses can bring your system to a crawl. Malwarebytes (malwarebytes.com) provides a safe, free version of their program that will search your system and prompt you which files/apps are causing you grief. Lastly, if all else fails, sometimes the OS itself is just getting sloppy from things like partially installed updates, corrupted files, etc. When all else fails, a reload of the system to original condition is a great cure-all. Just be sure to get all your personal files, mail, photos, etc, copied off before you do that since that operation will erase everything.

Sound not working ; how do I remedy this?

Make sure you have the correct driver for the operating system you are using. If not look it up at the manufactures website and get the correct driver for that

Acer aspire wont recognise cd roms but plays dvds

Have you checked your CD roms? Maybe they are already defective. Try running them in a CD player to see if they run smoothly.
Sometimes, the onboard driver update mechanism isn't that consistent with its result. I suggest that you use RadarSync to scan your computer to see if your drivers are updated.
RadarSync is a specialized PC Driver Update Software. You can scan your computer using the free version but if you want it to update the drivers then you can buy a year or two years subscription of the software to keep your drivers updated.

Let me know if you have any questions.
