SOURCE: Kirby Ultimate G carpet shampooer not producing foam anymore

I was having the same problem. There is a filter plug that came loose on mine and went down into the hose. It belong on the water tank and fits in there tightly and the hose end goes over it. That's what actually makes the foam.

SOURCE: pressure relief valve opens

Hi.

If the hose works ok then you have A blockage in the section of the machine that goes from the brush roller to the wastebin.

Just remove the soleplate under the machine & check all the airways working back to the wastebin. definately check removeable inspection ports you will probably find omething in them blocking the airway.

SOURCE: Foam stopped working on my Kirby shampooer

You need to check that the little round screen is in the hole where the hose attaches to the shampoo tank. My guess is that the little round screen is wedged sideways in the end of the hose.

SOURCE: carpet cleaner wont foam up

Hello,
My educated guess ot that the little suds screen is not in the hole on the tank where the hose plugs into it. Check to see if it is wedged sideways in the end of the shampooer hose. (this happens (OFTEN)

Here is a link to my online shampooer manual in case you need any more instruction...

SOURCE: using shop vac 52722-90 for wet applications

yes, the foam filter is what you should use, also make sure you remove any bag, or paper filter, the water would make it fall apart.

Used the Kirby shampooer. It seemed to work well. Foamed ok and picked up foam ok. Capet looked clean. Next morning white streaks were noted on the carpet. What should I do to fix it?

White streaks might be soap residue, get carpet slightly wet and agitate it to see if it foams up. It may dpneed to be rinsed out.

If the filter is clogged would it quit working

Hi there! If the filter is clogged this will cause the vacuum to lose suction and possibly shut-off. Below are instructions to checking and cleaning your filters.

1. Remove the dirt cup. Twist off the dirt cup lid.
2. Remove the filter cartridge from dirt cup.
3. Separate the foam and cartridge filters. Wash foam filter under running. Allow 24 hours to air dry outside the vacuum.
4. Tap the excess dirt out of Hepa filter. Hepa filter may also be washed. Allow 24 hours to air dry.
5. Check the secondary filter by removing the filter cover from base. Rinse the foam filter under running water until it runs clear. Allow 24 hours to air dry.
6. The red baffle tube inside of the dirt cup is apart of the filtration of the vacuum and needs to be cleaned as well. Twist out the baffle tube by turning 1/4 turn clockwise. Remove any hair or debris wrapped around baffle tube. Baffle tube can be rinsed if needed. Allow to dry thoroughly.

If the filters are too dirty they may need to be replaced. With regular maintenance the filters should be replaced about once a year. Follow the links below to order replacement filters for your UH20020.

Exhaust Foam Filter

Hope this helps!

N2000 clean filter

The red guard goes on top of the foam after it is installed. The purpose of the red guard is to keep the bag from sucking down against the filter when you get a few inches of dirt in the bottom of the bag. If it sucks down against the filter the dirt in the bag will cause an airlfow restriction even though the bag is not full.

I have a 6 gall wet dry shop vac bye rigid . do i need a foam wet filter on the inside or will it work properly without the filter on i need it for water only. people in the store said the paper filter was...

Always use the foam filter when using the Shop Vac, keep your filters clean and it will operate more smoothly. When sucking water I usually take the foam filter off as well as the cylinder filter

Hi My Hoover wind tunnel cyclonic stopped working when i was using it. I tried different plug even then it doesnt work . What to do??

If the motor stopped running, it most likely did because it was not being cooled, becuause something was stopping up the air flow. If you have cleaned the secondary filter out and it still stops while running, then remove the exhaust filter cartridge and try it then. If it does not stop running now, then the problem is the previous models like this had a foam filter as the exhaust filter, not a heppa cartridge filter. You will not hurt the machine by running it without the heppa cartridge. Cut a foam filter to fit to replace it. I do not think Hoover knows this yet.

I have a customer working on this problem today (Sept 2010) I have repaired machines for 30 years. This filter is meant to just catch the tiny particles from getting back into the air. However, it worked fine on the previous machines with the foam filter here instead of this Heppa cartridge.

Hoover mach 3 cyclone vacuum shut off during useage. can't turn it on. cleaned it out and let it sit thinking overheated? this is 2 months old. help?

I had same problem. Turned out to be the filter that sits above the waste cannister. Remove the waste cannister. There is a little orange lever that releases the filter. It was caked with dirt not allowing any air flow causing the motor to overheat.

This foam filter gets dirty pretty fast.

Carpet shampoo system

MY FIRST QUESTION IS WHAT BRAND OF SHAMPOO ARE YOU USING??? KIRBY IS NOTED FOR REQUIRING ONLY, KIRBY SHAMPOO. PART OF THE REASON IS THAT THEY HAVE A UNIQUE FORMULA THAT WORKS SPECIFICALLY WITH THE KIRBY.
THE OTHER POSSIBILITY IS THE DISPENSER IS PLUGGED AND NEEDS A REAL GOOD CLEANING. ALSO, WHEN APPLYING THE FOAM TO THE CARPET, YOU NEED TO GO REALLY, REALLY SLOW.
THE NARROW BAND OF SUDS DOES INDICATE YOU MAY BE MOVING THE DISPENSER TOO FAST. GOOD LUCK.
