SOURCE: Hi I am a Physical therapist,

While there may be a problem specific to your unit such as a minor leak, wrist units are notorious for general lack of accuracy.

I have a Tec.bean blood pressure monitor, Model U80Q. It is constantly giving me a E-3 error message. I have changed the batteries but I don't know what this error message means.

Top 5 reasons a clinician would encounter an error code when attempting to take an automated BP.
1. Stop moving
2. Wrap the cuff correctly
3. Check the air hose, connectors and cuff
4. Check arm position
5. Check batteries

My SBM-200TA digital blood pressure unit gives lower readings of my own BP than the readings my Drs BPunit of my BP. Mine read 91/53 yet the Dr reading was 145/95. Is my unit faulty ? Thanks Mike

I could not be sure with this information. I would request that your Dr. give you your blood pressure test the old fashion way or get a second opinion. This would be your base line. Then see what the difference is between his machine and yours. A blood pressure test is given when the person is at rest. Human error, stress and activity will provide different results. You should find out soon. Either your machine is correct and your blood pressure is fantastic or their blood pressure machine is correct and you are at Hypertension: stage 2. In this case your Dr. would want to talk with you about medications and life style changes.

How to calibrate omega 1445 bp monitor

My first question is how do you know it's not accurate? I would tee in a digital manometer (measure in mmHg), wrap the cuff around a glass bottle and let the cuff inflate. When it fully inflates the cuff...look at the readings between the monitor and your manometer. If they are within a few digits of one another, I would leave it alone.

Inaccuracies with patient nibp readings are usually related to improper cuff placement on the patient. There's usually a mark on the cuff to indicate where the cuff should be placed in relation to the brachial artery. I believe this unit utilizes oscillatory technology to determine readings and an improperly placed cuff can create inaccurate readings.

I have a gateway desktop that is beeping before post. It beeps and will not post.

It depends on the motherboard model, but here is an example of the error codes for a gateway:
Beeps Error Message Description 1 Refresh Failure The memory refresh circuitry on the motherboard is faulty. 2 ECC Error Error Checking and Correction (ECC) is supported on this product. 3 Base 64 KB Memory Failure Memory Failure in the first 64 kilobytes (KB). 4 Timer Not Operational Memory Failure in the first 64 KB, or Timer 1 on the motherboard is not functioning. 5 Processor Error Ther processor on the motherboard generated an error. 6 8042 - Gate A20 Failure The keyboard controller, 8042, may be bad. The basic input/output system (BIOS) cannot switch to protected mode. 7 Processor Exception Interrupt Error The processor generated an exception interrupt. 8 Display Memory Read/Write Error The computer video adapter is either missing or its memory is faulty. This is not a fatal error. 9 ROM Checksum Error Read-only memory (ROM) checksum value does not match the value encoded in BIOS. 10 CMOS Shutdown Register Rd/Wrt Error The shutdown register for complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) random access memory (RAM) failed.

My wristech bp moniter will only pump up to 08 and then it displays the error message, what's wrong with it?

You need to make sure that the bp is RIGHT over the pulse point, that is the only way for them to read. they are great little items, but I prefer the arm cuff, have used them for 15 years on all my patients, the reading seems to me to be more steady and accurate. but, I know you already have to wrist, so please check the locations that you are placing it on your wrist. Please write back should you need more info, would love to make sure you are on schedule..... Guy

Wide variability in readings taken within a ten-minute span on same patient. From 122/95 to 104/55 same patient, different arms. Patient being monitored for hypotension.

Time between readings must be enough to allow circulation in the arm reaches steady state again, or else if readings are close to each other, each subsequent reading is lower than preceding ones due to previous pressing the arteries and limiting blood circulation. 5 min is good enough time between readings and averaging. Massage the arm before next reading.

Continuous beeping sound

Do you get video? If so then it could be a stuck key on the keyboard.

Do you get no video? If so then reseat the RAM.
