Would like to know how to clean and oil this machine, plus details about filling the bobbin, threading, etc
Hello Janice,
This is a very good robust machine worth keeping if in good shape. Although at first it appears complex, as soon as you learn how to communicate with it, it is a quite enjoyable.
Winding the bobbin and threading is very similar to its predecessors 6270 and 6170. Putting into words is rather cumbersome without pics, but the link below shows a very good representation: to http://www.sewusa.com/Threading_Diagrams/Threading_Pages/Viking_Sewing_Machine_threading/Viking_6170_6270_Threading_Diagram.htm
Now oiling and maintenance.
All metal-to-metal moving parts must be cleaned first and then oiled with sewing machine oil, not any other oil.
If you have cams to create all the stitches, they are inserted in the cam compartment at specific settings. For this reason, it would be worth while to obtain a Manual. You can obtain one on-line at a reasonable price at

although there is a small cost, the amount of information contained is well worth it.
Please let me know if this answered your questions, and hope you really enjoy sewing on your Viking 6370.
A couple of video's that should help.
