SOURCE: how do I change the line on my 25 cc homelite zip

1) Use a pair of vise grips to open the wheel on the bottom of the feede;
2) Remove the wheel, taking care not to lose the screw inside it;
3) Remove the outside wheel, feed line into one of the interior wheels and wind it around until the wheel is full following the direction of the arrow on the outside. Leave enough line (4 - 6") to feed out the holes;
4) Repeat for other wheel;
5) Replace wheel, feeding excess line into outside wheel holes on wheel frame still attached to weedeater;
6) Hold wheel together tightly and reattach wheel hub. Hand tighten only as it will tighten itself with use and require vise grips to remove again.

Hope this helps.

Need gas and oil mixture for 25 cc ut 08083 blower

Two-cycle engines use a mixture of oil and fuel to power and lubricate the engine. Homelite blower engines use a ratio of 50 parts gasoline to 1 part two-cycle engine oil. Two-cycle engine oil is commonly sold in 2.6-ounce containers; add it to 1 gallon of gas to achieve the 50:1 ratio. Two-cycle engine oil for outboard motors is not compatible with Homelite blowers.Use premium fuel,the blower,weedeater,etc. will last much longer!

I have recently obtained a Homelite "zip start" trim n edge string trimmer. What fuel mixture is recommended for it?

Modern Homelite equipment uses a 50;1 fuel mixture. That is 2.6 ounces of 2 cycle mix to 1 gallon (U.S.) of gasoline. I highly recommend to use a quality 2 cycle oil that is designed for lawn equipment. I also recommend to use a mix that contains fuel stabilizer. This will usually be in a 3.2 ounce bottle.
Always use fresh fuel, it prevents problems in your equipment.

Good luck!

Just plain gas or a mix in my Homelite 25cc zip start gas trimmer

you will have to mix oil and gas in a one gallon container
your ratio will be 40:1 that is 3.2oz of oil to one gallon of gas
you will need two cycle oil as some are pre bottled at this amount and some you have to measure as some dispensers have markings for you.
Do NOT USE MOTOR OIL OR OUTBOARD MOTOR OIL.
I would use 89 octane mid grade especially if fuel will be sitting.
Look for the 2 cycle oil that contains a fuel stabilizer in it if possible if not thats fine.

Dont want to throw you off but some will say you can use a 50:1 mix---2.6 oz to 1gallon
if you can find the SYNTHETIC type 2 cycle oil this would be your alternative and would be ok to use also.

Homelite zip start 2cycle trimmer.

I had this same problem, would run a couple of seconds, stop, and you couldn't start it again.
Had good gas/oil mix 50:1 and 25cc Homelite. Had replaced the fuel filter, gas, spark plug, and took carb apart and cleaned with carb cleaner and primer bulb worked fine. None of that fixed it. What did? Take the muffler off and see if it will start and run with the muffler off. If it does, chances are the muffler is clogged. Also check the exhaust ports and clean them out if plugged with black oil carbon residue.
My muffler was clogged up, took it off, cleaned out the exhaust ports, there was some oil that was in the muffler(oil that didn't burn during combustion). It now starts and runs like a champ on first or second pull.
