Do you mean the BM-11, or really the glass, covering the monitor? because the last is not possible. To see how to replace a complete monitor, visit ifixit.com, because they do these kind of repairs. They show the pictures or even video. The BM-11, if you don't have a battery grip (if you have, first remove the grip) then from the under side with a finger nail, click it forward, under the word Nikon on the BM-11.
SOURCE: What are combining continuous photography
Hello - The continuous button is for action shots and the camera will fall back into "lower definition' mode and take 3 5 or 7 photo's per second.
For example -- Tennis player hitting the ball , press continuous and you will have several pictures of them hitting the ball - and ONE of them will be the best shot.
It's not video as that is a continuous stream of 32 frames per second, but it's several JPEG per second. -- Ray

I own a D70, D80 and recently purchased a D7000. I have under 1K on the shutter, and have had no issues. The D7000 had some issues with some stuck green and red pixels, but this was solved shortly afterwards (was the cause for the D7000 being back ordered until recently).
The kind of widespread acceptance this camera received can indicate why there are some people having issues. This can be due to everything from the user's inability to use the camera correctly all the way to an actual hardware problem. Needless to say, the camera comes with a 1 year warranty - and if there is a problem surely Nikon is fixing it for free under the terms of the warranty. I have not had any problems with my D7000.
If you're like me - purchase an extended warranty from SquareTrade (there are other similar providers, too). I opted for 3 years of coverage and coverage from accidental damage from handling (falling, submersion, etc.) for about $210.
I hope this helps and good luck. Please rate my reply. Thank you.

Try pulling the battery out then replacing it and trying again. If that doesn't work reset the factory settings by going to menu, setup menu, reset user settings.
