Not the battery. open the base and raise the three little brass charging contacts. i used a file to shave the plastic on remote contacts to get it to seat better on the base. if you mash on the remote while on base and it starts to charge then do the mod.

Charging pad the remote batteries are dead, won't hold charge anymore...

Sadly that's how they make the new rechargable batteries for controllers. You are supposed to recycle that and buy new. Luckily you can find chargers for the wii very cheap nowadays. I have used a few different chargers and have found the Nyko brand ones are junk so steer clear of those. The Duracell induction chargers however work very nicely. You just set the wii remote down on the charge pad and it charges fairly quickly. My kids run around and even if the remote shifts a bit it will continue charging. Hope this helps!

Viper remote not charging or no display

This is for the two way pager style remotes. If the remote no longer charges or it does not display anything then it could use a new rechargeable battery. This is usually the case for 9 out of 10 problems. This battery is much like the one in your cell phone and has a chargeable life. Over time and charging it gets weaker. Also if you leave the remote uncharged for a very long time there is a good chance the battery will not recharge. If you need to go on vacation for a very long time, charge the remote and then disconnect the battery from the remote. It takes about one minute after you reconnect the battery too the remote for it to start back up. This does nothing to the pairing of the remote or system, the remote saves all of that info in it and does not require battery power to keep it saved. Here is a website to purchase new batteries viperremotebattery.com and a youtube video how to change it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGnG5iCX09A Thanks, Hopefully I can help someone in need because these remotes are very expensive.

Trouble charging Monster MCC AVL300 battery

Had same problem, and others have as well. It's not the contacts, but the design of the cradle - the contacts on the unit don't even touch the contacts on the cradle. The only way we get ours to charge is to balance something heavy on top of the remote while it's on the cradle to force the contacts to touch. We use a vase that's on the coffee table, believe it or not.

Won't charge in cradle, shows slide show then goes dark. has power to remote won't charge know matter long it sit on it

The early 880's had problems with the charging circuit. For a while Harmony was replacing these units even outside the waranty period. Not sure if they are doing this anymore. However your remote is recognizing that it is in the craddle because the slide show starts which means the charging circuit in the remote is not passing power onto the battery or the battery is not making a good connection inside the remote. I would pull the battery and clean the little contacts in the remote and the contact pads on the battery. If you have a volt meter I would pull the battery and check voltage. You should see around 4 VDC on the 2 outside copper pads if it is charged. If it is charged and the remote is not working then its time for a new remote. If the battery is dead then it is likley the typical charging problem of the 880 is causing the failure. Hopefully cleaning the contacts both inside the remote and in the charging craddle will solve the problem. Use alcohol and a q-tip to clean all of the contacts.
Good Luck

The remote continues displaying a low battery signal. i have tried to sit the control on the cradle but it doesn't seem to sit well, therefore it can't receive a charge. do i need to buy a new battery or...

your remote charges in a base, is the tv very old or new, if its under warranty check where you bought it, if its not, see if you can replace the batteries in the remote, they will get old and malfunction, they are probably small batteries like go in a heraring aid or computer, if there are several, one can go bad causing the others to go bad, clean the terminals on the pad and remote, use a pencil eraser, to clean them, sometimes they spill coke or just your hand can contaminate the conections.Matt

Logitech harmony 880 won't charge

Clean the leads on both the charger and on the remote itself with rubbing alcohol.
We had this problem (it would lose connection periodically for no apparent reason, then eventually wouldn't even register that it was set down). The leads sure looked clean, but shining them up with rubbing alcohol (recommended on one of the Logitech boards) got it to start charging again.

New bright 19.2v nicd battery problem

I have purchased 2 remote controlled toy cars from Costco over the years. These New Bright batteris and charges last only a few charges, and then they go bad. I am disappointed. I will go to Walmart and buy a new battery and see if it works better, if not, i will return to Walmart.
