It depends on the internal memory size, if it does even have one. Each 14mp picture should be around 10-12mb, since internal memory is usually small, with 128 mb you could hold around 10.
With a 4GB card you could hold around 320-350.

That depends on the amount of internal memory, the compression rate, and the type of picture. Do you have a particular model camera in mind?

Be sure you have formatted the card, not the internal memory (if the camera has that).
Be sure your battery is fully charged, so that the device can fuly write the file.
Be sure you are writing the file to the card, and not the internal memory, as there may not be enough space on it to write the file.
If this does not resolve the problem, let me know.

Face the camera lens towards the floor and firmly tap on the back of it while tunring on, make sure you have new batteries or that the battery is fully charged, you may have to do this a number of times before it releases the zoom. Camera's require specialist tools to open them up, you may have to get it serviced

Why wont my SD/SDHC card format ?

Sometimes certain cards will save your media to them but won't format. It has to be a SD for the type of software you have.

Setting my Samsung ST76 to 1MB photos

I do not complete understand what you want. My fuss is, you want every picture to be about 1 MB on your memory card. I do strongly advice against this, but you own the camera and so it be. You always can make pictures with a smaller resolution from high quality pictures, but never the other way around. You better shoot highest quality on your camera and later wham the pictures are on your computer down size the ones that are less important to 1 MB.
But you can choose 5 mega pixels with normal compression or 3 mega pixels with fine compression or 2 mega pixels with super fine compression. All these pictures will look fine in an e-mail, or on the net. Even a 6 by 4 inch picture will look fine. Memory cards will cost like 1 dollar pro Gbyte, so my advice is buy a few 8 or 16 Gb cards and shoot in high def.

Can i increase my pixel size

The three lowest resolutions are 1280x960, 1920x1080, and 2048x1536. To change the picture size see http://resources.kodak.com/support/shtml/en/manuals/urg01134/urg01134c5s1.shtml.
If it must be 1200x1200, you can shoot at 2048x1536 and then resize using just about any photo editing program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Formatted pictures and now they are gone

If the pictures were on a memory card and you haven't done anything with the card since you formatted it, you may have a chance to recover at least some of the pictures. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader connected to your computer and run the program.

Optimus mpeg 4 digital camera

A one Gig card is probably all that you need, but video will use a good deal more. Be sure that the camera is set to record to the SD card, not the internal memory. If you are concerned, you can remove the card and transfer the files to your computer and start again. This is much faster than with a cable. Good luck

Took photos without memory card in - can I retrieve them?

Hi there
You should have a USB lead that goes from the camera to the PC, just connect them up and let the computer install the new hardware, once done if it doesn't autoplay just look in computer for "removable device" just double click on it to open the device and then copy the pics to the PC.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!!

Internal memory

That is most likely correct. I have a Z740 and can only take around 20. My moms will only take 9! Memory cards are cheap. Get a 1 gb card which will hold around 600 or more pictures. You can get one in electronics at wal-mart for around 20-30 dollars. It's a good investment.
