I have turned off main gas line to dryer and have checked that and the connecting line to dryer and see no leakage but I still have an odor of gas in dryer itself. what should I check next?

I have been noticing an odor for some time on our clothing but now I'm smelling the gas inside the dryer. Again since then the main gas line shut off has been turned off and I am not using dryer. The valve and line to dryer have been checked and seem to be fine. I'm just wondering if there may be internally to repair.

SOURCE: smelled mild gas odor after moving dryer.

The gas valve should not be opening unless the glow igniter glows and sends a signal to the gas valve. I suspect a small leak in either the gas pipe or at the gas valve. You will have to get to the gas valve to perform a leak test. While the dryer is open, replace the igniter.

I have a LG dryer model dlgx3002w not heating.

It sounds like you didn't install the ignitor properly. Try re installing the ignitor, because it's opening the gas valve saying it's hot enough to light, but if it's out of position, it won't create proper combustion.

We just bought a Samsung dv330agb gas dryer that is being delivered tomorrow. My husband is concerned that since we are stacking it we will not have enough line to reach the gas pipe in the wall. Where...

-Don't worry about until you get the unit in and set up where you want. Then you have to run a line from the closer gas pipe to it.
Then will connect the flexible gas tube to it.
It's very sample. You don't need a license to do for you.
Take all measurement then just go to Lowes and buy all fitting, shutoff valve , Teflon tape for natural gas and pipe for gas.
-If any shut off vale to the line that you'll work on, make sure turn it off before proceed. Or if there is not one there then you have to turn off the main valve at the out side of the house.
-After done. turn the gas valve on then check for leak.
Use water and dishwasher soap mix together and spray along and around the new connectors of the pipe all the way to the dryer. If there is no bubble then no leak.
Your are done.

Good luck

My dryer is giving off a gas odor and not heating at different times, it will heat and the odor goes away when we move the dial around.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Need to know about the fuel pump shut off button and the reset button .... how do i go about resetting it

  1. you know were it is right?
  2. Turn the ignition switch OFF .
  3. Ensure that there is no fuel leaking in the engine compartment, along any of the lines or at the tank. There should be no odor of fuel as well.
  4. If no leakage and/or odor is apparent, reset the switch by pushing the reset button on the top of the switch.
  5. Cycle the ignition switch from the ON to OFF positions several times, allowing five seconds at each position, to build fuel pressure within the system.
  6. Again, check the fuel system for leaks. There should be no odor of fuel as well.
  7. If there is no leakage and/or odor of fuel, it is safe to operate the vehicle. However, it is recommended that the entire system be checked by a professional, especially if the vehicle was in an accident severe enough to trip the inertia switch
